Thank you to Fran ( @crazygnomenclature ) for once again giving her blessing to make another appearance as my Fairy Gnomebully. Also giving her a joint writing credit on this one as our chat regarding this idea helped me massively in putting a bow on the strip.
There have been some comments on selfies I’ve posted of my office attire in the last couple of months (taken in front of the mirror at my office bathroom) asking if the pics are being taken from the women’s room or not.
Well, technically, no… but let me explain.
The pics are being taken from a single occupant gender neutral bathroom at the office, I wouldn’t want to take pics in a shared bathroom. But beyond that, for the folks that have been asking, I have taken the mental leap to using the women’s room, and once I did, it hit me that it really isn’t too big a deal…
…well, technically that’s not true either… but let me explain.
It isn’t a big deal insofar as using the restroom at the office, since everyone knows me, my deal, and is totally accepting and lovely.
I still get hangups around public restrooms. Like, I’ll use them, but I definitely feel the stares when I’m in them.
Also, I live in a blue area, so for anyone who’s living somewhere that isn’t as progressive, I imagine that public restrooms can be absolutely terrifying.
It’s sad that’s the case. It’s sad that people can’t realize that this isn’t a big deal.
All that said, I’m happy Fran is running out of things to say I haven’t tried yet! LOOK AT ME GET COMFORTABLE WITH LADY THINGS.
If a public restroom does not tell you where to put used toilet paper, where do you typically put it?
Used toilet paper goes in the toilet
Used toilet paper goes in the bin/trash
Used toilet paper goes somewhere else (where?)
This depends (on what?)
Not applicable (never in public restrooms/they all have signage to tell you/etc)
