An old-fashioned comfort food dish that makes you miss cooking from the past. Creamy tuna mixed with soft noodles and vegetables, then baked to perfection and topped with crunchy bread crumbs.
Ingredients: 8 oz egg noodles. 2 cans 5 oz each tuna, drained. 1 cup frozen peas. 1 cup sliced mushrooms. 1/2 cup diced onion. 1/2 cup diced celery. 1 can 10.5 oz condensed cream of mushroom soup. 1/2 cup milk. 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese. Salt and pepper to taste. 1/2 cup breadcrumbs. 2 tablespoons butter, melted.
Instructions: Preheat oven to 375F 190C. Cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside. In a large mixing bowl, combine drained tuna, frozen peas, sliced mushrooms, diced onion, diced celery, cream of mushroom soup, milk, and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well. Add cooked egg noodles to the tuna mixture and stir until evenly combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Transfer the mixture into a greased casserole dish. In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with melted butter. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the top of the casserole. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the breadcrumbs are golden brown. Serve hot and enjoy!

Hamburger Steak 😋😋😋 Yes I know it's 3oclock in the morning, Dont judge me....blame the insomnia - I'm just wide awake 😳 and decided to put something together. I was scrolling the internet the other day and ran across this recipe.I haven't this since I was a teenager! Never even made it for my kids when they were coming up. But as soon as I saw it on someone's blog it brought back so many memories, and just from the pictures, I could taste it again! 😋 I made a big ole pot of rice to go with it and had some sweet corn on the cob on the side. Hopefully this will help facilitate at least a nap 😂😴😴😴 #hamburgersteak #retrorecipes https://www.instagram.com/p/CMwKCvSLpf8/?igshid=1vnvzkxjyul0a

If you listened to last week’s edition of @rouxdepodcast, you’d know that I have strong opinions about doughnuts. You can put sprinkles and glazed and glitter on them, but if your base doughnut sucks, there’s no point. For me perfection is a classic plain, like the ones served back when a woman was a dame, back when doughnuts were best served with a black cup of joe and a fat cigar, enjoyed over that morning’s racing sheets. I got to write about these beauties for Taste, along with a recipe I sourced (and tweaked) from the OGs of doughnutdom: the Salvation Army lassies of World War One. Trust me, you’re going to want to read this story. Link is on my website under the recipe section- though you could just head over to @taste where it’s today’s feature. . . #doughnuts #donuts #vintagecookbook #retrorecipes #classicfood #americanclassic #americana
