I'm so excited for the remaster! I've heard it might possibly be voiced but I don't know how I feel about that, especially since I can't trust Square Enix to remain faithful to voice actors anymore given what happened with Final Fantasy 7 Remake. If they recast the previously voiced characters with Hollywood actors, I'm gonna be upset.

Operation Reunion

Hello there!

Since the revealing of FF7REMAKE after a long hiatus of no news with the State of Play my love for Final Fantasy 7 Remake has evolved into something more akin to disappointment. It was amazing to see this renowned classic come to life with the beautiful graphics, gameplay, and music. But the thing that really broke the immersion for me was the voices being totally different. I'll admit the new voice for Cloud is amazing but the rest of the cast just leaves me wanting the Advent Children voice actors. The new voice for Sephiroth leaves absolutely no impression as George Newbern's did when he said in Advent Children, "Good to see you....Cloud." It was also sad to see that the entire cast has been removed! Which means Reno, Rude, Vincent, and the rest that appeared in Advent Children are gone. These voices became my immersion and without them it makes it hard for me to fully commit to the Remake.

I got to meet both George Newbern and Adam Croasdell at Galaxy con today!

I usually chicken out whenever I get the chance to meet celebrities, but I made it my mission to give George a letter I wrote for him about what he and his portrayal as Sephiroth means to me and others, and also about Operation Reunion 😁

Meeting Adam was a last minute decision that I'm glad I made because I was the only one at his booth and I got to talk to him for a bit! He was so nice!!

I would definitely want to meet them again if I ever get the chance! Especially because I don't think I'll be as nervous 😅

Wow, I had no idea that Quinton could do impressions like that 😆

I love VA's that have a unique voice but also a lot of range. Like, it's amazing some of the VA's that can literally sound like completely different people or even monsters!!

They really do need to be treated better by the industry and the video game/anime community. Not many people have this kind of talent and they should be cherished and treated with respect.

I hope that what me and Operation Reunion is doing will help make a change and set a precedent. I don't care how you feel about the whole change of VA's for FF7 remake, but what I don't understand is the attitude by some fans that think that voice actors are unimportant, even ones that have voiced a character for years. It just doesn't make sense to me. Just because what happened with FF7R is common in the industry doesn't mean it's right or that people upset and frustrated about it are crybabies or entitled. I'm sick of it happening because it shouldn't happen. Our VA's should be treated the same way Japan treats theirs. Why is that too much to ask for?

If you have done any research into how VA's have been treated over the years, then you will see that they and even the workers of video game companies are treated like shit, and if we don't stand up and say something, it'll keep happening.
