Some reverse!rogues timeline sketches I did quite awhile ago, but can talk about now that we've posted about it!

paragraphs are referring to the sketches from top left, top right, bottom left, and bottom right

Because Abner isn't well socialized, he doesn't always have a good handle on how much information is appropriate to share. Luckily, the other rogues are pretty understanding, and as the rogues' leader, Jo would also know how to politely tell Abner when things are better left for a more private environment, which Jo wouldn't mind doing for Abner.

The way I envision the rogues working together, means grouping off based on what their skills are most suited for, so someone like Darius would more often be used to help control any potential crowds and evacuation efforts, and while not pictured here, Jervis' cards would also serve a similar function.

I don't have much to say about this one, just that I remember it being Joker and Batman reacting to Scarecrow's fear toxin, neither of which handle it well,

Ed, as always, has the instinct to approach Jo in a very ineloquent manner, it's a canon event,

the top two sketches and bottom left are one instance, while the bottom right is a continuation of part of Jo and Ed's first meeting in this timeline

Although Jo is the leader, he still finds that role quite overwhelming, something that Ed isn't the best at helping with, given his personality can be very stressful. Jo knows his limits, and sometimes needs to break away from the group and calm down, which Ed is allowed to join him for as long as he stays quiet.

Given the abrupt nature of their first meeting in this timeline (were was some kind of fight going on nearby), Jo would rather not hear Ed out, preferring to leave, but Ed actually handcuffs him and tries once again to convince him to stay and answer his riddle and be let free, or just listen to his offer. (I mean, it's an obvious choice, duh)

To explain the "ban corner" Fluffy and I would describe it as the rogues who aren't allowed to be involved on in field injuries. Harley, Selina, and Ivy aren't a part of the ban corner, they are the ones keeping the others in there.

Jo does his best to take the brunt of Batman's physical attacks, not wanting the others to get hurt as a failure on his part, but that means that Jo ends up in bad shape often, despite the others doing their best to help prevent that.

Fluffy really likes Jo and Waylon bonding in this timeline, since they're both from the country and can share experiences that the others can't relate to, which makes them really happy, (even if it makes Ed jealous)

Ed gets scared seeing Jo hurt, and can get sick to his stomach seeing blood/gore, but he also feels anxious if he can't see what's happening either, so Jo does his best to treat himself and calm Ed.

More Reverse!Rogues content, timeline info-dump incoming:

Within the context of this timeline, Scarecrow is often the one fighting Batman one on one, so he sustains a lot of injuries. On a particular night, Bats finds himself more frustrated than usual against the Riddler's attempts to stop his use of drones, and is able to break his arm. This doesn't satisfy Batman's rage and he approaches the Riddler to pummel him further.

This enrages Scarecrow, and compared to their usual fights, he and Batman are fighting with the intent to kill the other. Given the brutality and speed in which the two are able to exchange blows, none of the other rogues or Joker feel that they can intervene.

Gradually, the two are running on nothing but adrenaline because they're bleeding more and more, cracks, snaps, tears, and animalistic sounds are increasing.

They're actually going to kill each other at this rate, the thought running through the rogues mind as they look onward. We have to stop this,

Thankfully, the Joker and Riddler are able to pull themselves out of their shock for long enough to lunge at Scarecrow and Bats to end the mutual mauling. Joker escapes with Batman, throwing a smoke bomb and hastily clambering away before anyone thinks to try following, they just want to make sure Scarecrow isn't dead.

They rush him and Riddler to Hush, taking care to be gentle, but fast. Ed is having a panic attack in the back, watching Jo's breathing slow now that the adrenaline is wearing off,

His best friend could be dying in his arms, bleeding out all because he didn't want Ed to be hurt anyone, oh god, the blood, how much blood was even left in his body?

Ed tries talking to Jo to get any kind of response. Jo barely has the energy to say anything at all, mumbling half-coherent words. Tommy rushes out of his house to receive them and ushers them into his home-practice exam room. While mainly for practicing his techniques, he keeps (mostly) functional equipment in it, more since Harvey came and ask if he was willing to help their cause by treating the rogues.

Still, he's worried when he gets Jo in there. He can't check everything, surgery is vital, he'll just have to cut away Jo's clothes and work on what he was able to deem as an immediate priority. Ed is in the room with surgeon and patient. Tommy would rather Ed leave the room so he can work uninterrupted, but Ed is in too much distress to make that happen.

Tommy is able to keep Jo alive for the night, and treat Ed's arm. It's a sleepless night, but it passes. Hush would need to check Jo a couple more times and operations, and he and Ed are left to recover in peace. Batman doesn't make an appearance during that time either, but his side is more a different post (angsty batjokes)

The gallery forces Jo to stay home with Ed, despite his protests. There won't be any budging on this. He has to focus on getting better. Jo has no choice but to give in. He's in no condition to protest.

The rogues take turns bringing Jo and Ed cooked meals so that neither has to strain their injuries. It's a kind gesture, Jo is just stressed by all the attention. He doesn't like feeling helpless, stuck, or pitied. Some rogues are easier to handle than others, especially if they're just dropping the food off and leaving, but some days that's still too overwhelming.

Needless to say, Jo is thrilled once he's healed enough to get back out there.

Divergent of how Polka Dot Man normally breaks away from STAR Labs, he's still working for them when he meets Music Meister.

Along with the rest of the gallery, Music Meister is worried about Polka Dot Man's safety with STAR labs, as Ratcatcher is able to communicate that Abner is not operating that way of his own free will.

With Darius' ability to make people dance to his funky grooves, he tries to convince Abner to side with them and leave the labs, that he'll be safe with the gallery (while also falling hard for Abner, but he can't get too distracted!!) Needless to say, Darius' charms are affective without any mind control necessary.

Ok. i'm interested in the reverse!rogues stuff. What're Batman and the other Rogues like in that AU? Are the latter a bunch of anti-heroes?

I'm so glad you asked! I'll try and make this as clear as possible, so I apologize if I explain this poorly;

Batman and the Joker are the main villains, so to speak. Bruce's goal is still to make Gotham a better city, but he's become the worst version of himself in trying to do so. He's willing to kill, which is the biggest difference, and he uses his tech (and his own fighting) to take out whatever and whoever he deems necessary to improving Gotham. If some civilians get caught in the crossfire, he'd deem it as a necessary sacrifice. The Joker, per our au (and his heavy inspiration from the TellTale Batman) blindly follows Bruce because he's giving him attention, and he also agrees that there's filth that needs to be removed.

Calling the rogues anti-heroes is a very good way to put it. They still have their own personal goals, and they still cause "chaos" that not all of Gotham is a fan of, but they're a bit more stable and understand that Batman is a big danger more than a help.

The rogues start banding together (meaning as pretty much a whole collective save a few) after Ed approaches Jon in a similar fashion to Interrobang (well, they're a bit different, we'll save the elaboration for another post - point is, Ed teams up with Jo) and suggests they work with Gordon because he's a good cop. While hesitant, Jo concedes to Ed's begging. From there, Commissioner Gordon suggests Scarecrow to become a leader of sorts to the other rogues. Somebody has to keep them in check, and Gordon is worried about losing his life when he still has a family to take care of.

That's not to say that he sees Scarecrow and the other rogues as expendable, but they're already out and about risking their lives, if that makes sense? Crane could have still refused, but he chose not to.

Dr. Strange and Hush will not meet in the main timeline, and that's for good reason. If they did, they would cause a lot of pain and turmoil. I'll leave it at that,
