Ok so i’m bored and i’m rewatching Skam (of course) and there’s something i’ve always wanted to point out because I think the fans are a bit harsh; Ruben is actually really fucking sweet.

1. He stands up for Cris at the club with that guy and almost gets into a fight defending her.

2. He lets it slide that she lost the pills and doesn’t have the cash to pay.

3. On their date when she’s clearly not interested in him - he tells her it’s ok if she wants to leave, he just wants her to be honest about what she wants.

4. When they’re at the party and she’s flirting with him again he goes out of his way to mention that she seemed uninterested in him previously and then later in the car when they’re about to have sex he stops her and CHECKS if it is what she wants. So, clearly he was picking up on her vibes and he wanted to make doubly sure.

5. He always offers to pay, drive her home, texts her or calls her to check on her etc.

He clearly likes her and isn’t trying to use her. If anything, Cris is the one leading him on and sending mixed messages. She uses him to try to distract herself from her feelings for Joana and also to make Joana jealous. Which, you have to be honest, sucks!

It’s Cris that really handled the whole situation badly. Throughout the season we see Cris have enormous character growth, and I think the point the writers are trying to make is that Cris never cared about other people’s feelings before, she just kind of did what she felt like and expected the people around her to work it out for themselves. And then when the situation is flipped, and she actually falls someone, she understands what it’s like to feel led on, to feel like the person is sending mixed messages, or not communicating etc. And she gets hurt. So it’s nice to see her have that chat with Hugo in the final ep. I have the feeling that if she ever runs into Ruben again she would have a similar chat with him.

I don’t think we, as the audience, need to hate on Ruben. He really wasn’t the bad guy at all. He might be a bit naive/stupid but who could blame him. If Cris Soto was behaving that way with me i’d probably be a blind fool too.

my favourite trope is the “we have to sleep in the same bed for some reason but we’re so clearly not together that we’re both super awkward about it” especially with a side of “and we’re both going to pretend we don’t want to” and you’ll have to pry it out of my cold romance-deprived fingers

After her admission to Yousef that her past made her all ‘black’ but in that moment when she was so happy with the girlies she was all white. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Also, what a great excuse to rewatch the whole thing again!
