How could I have forgotten that Zolf wrote Harrison Campbell Smut?!
"She didn't say zero."
Things I never thought I would hear from alex j Newall but have heard because of rusty quill gaming:
- Literally everything this man says
- that one time Alex and James flirted YES they were both in character but STILL I hated every moment of it
- American Alex…
- one to many minutes of Alex crow sounds
- Albert Einstein Alex?!?!
Queer platonic relationships in podcasts are something that can be so personal
Operations Update
Rusty Quill just released an operations update and here’s a brief summary of a couple of points from it. The full document is 9 pages and covers much more tho so I’ll stick a link in a reblog, I highly recommend reading the full thing.
On Transparency
RQ currently employs a high proportion of ppl that are LGBTQIA+, mentally ill, disabled and/or chronically ill.
They have a lower proportion of employees that are POC or who have hearing and visual impairments
Going forward:
They are actively looking to employ more POC
They acknowledge that they currently lack the resources for it but are investigating how to become more accessible to potential employees with hearing or visual impairments
More stats about the diversity stats of the company will also be released later in the year.
On Content
They’ve reviewed their current shows and acknowledge they messed up in several places such as:
Depictions of Egypt and its culture in RQG
Tom Haan perpetuating harmful East Asian stereotypes in TMA
Using real world figures like Amherst as antagonists when they caused significant harm and that harm is still ongoing
The disproportionate number of antagonists in TMA who are characters of colour when compared to the a-racial presentation of the main cast
Going forward:
They’ve hired an in-house sensitivity consultant and may also consult specialist sensitivity readers as needed
Future shows will be subject to a more thorough planning which includes sensitivity consultation
And they’re looking to diversify their current team for any future content
“Ok, and how are you driven out of town” 🍂
How long did it take you to draw that coat?
Not very, actually. I had to work on the white trims a bit, but I think the whole thing took a little over an hour.
okay so hear me out. we know:
zolf became a cleric of hope more or less because of sasha
because of time travel shenanigans, sasha was technically dead during the 18 months zolf was off becoming a cleric of hope
clerics get their power from some sort of divine source
zolfs divine source is hope
zolfs hope is from sasha
sasha played a decent role in society post-fall of rome, in which she helped many people who didnt have anyone to turn to, and thus presumably gave a lot of other people hope
it is at least theoretically possible to become a god in this universe, especially if enough people believe in you
still with me? good, because now we get into theory
what if zolf isnt just getting his power from hope? what if there is a god of hope he is getting his powers from? what if there is an actual divine entity, a manifestation of hope in the form of a being, who gives him that power? what if, many, many years ago, someone appeared out of seemingly no where, wearing clothes and possessing objects years ahead of the time, and helped the helpless and the lost and the downtrodden? what if she created an organization that lasted longer than her name, an organization built on independence and hope in one another?
basically, what im getting at is:
Zolf Smith, Cleric of Sasha Racket, Goddess of Hope
