Monday definitely has me feeling this quote! - My energy level is equal to that of a sloth on Xanax. 😴💕 . I may have missed out on Peggy's (@thepigeonletters) most epic book launch this weekend, but I did get a chance to take some time and admire her new book "Peggy Dean's Guide to Nature Drawing & Watercolor" and Friends, it is AMAZING!! . I have struggled with a lot of art related things when it comes to perspective and details and I am so thrilled that she goes over this in her book, along with so many other things!! (Seriously. It's a thick book!!) And I luckily came across this tutorial (perfect timing!! 😱) for drawing a sloth!! I am HORRIBLE at drawing animals and with her help I made this happen!! Hi guys, I bought a Mossery 2018 Planner to try out and see if it suits me to use as a tracker notebook for next year! The calendar year version (January 2018-December 2018) is on sale at the moment as we’re halfway through the year already, so it seemed like a good opportunity to check them out without worrying about trying things out and making it ~messy~ 

The one I ordered is the 2018 planner, with the “monthly planner + weekly horizontal” layout, and the cover colour “Black Speckle” - it’s a black background with rose-gold foil detailing. 

I wanted to compare it to the books/systems I use at the moment to see pros + cons, and see how i can switch things up to make it easier! 

Things I mentioned: 

Notebooks: The brand whose name i was unsure of is Ssueim & Cclim. (I think they're Korean?!) You can find the planner I have online by searching "Ssueim & Cclim Fruit Cocktail Diary" - 

Pros: paper quality in the planner is good (feels like thin card + it's very opaque so no ghosting!) (plus the design is super cute! A+ for pastel/fruits)  It’s also not dated, so you can use it for whichever year you like and start at any point throughout the year! There are spaces for you to fill in that info so you can keep track as you like. Cons: the binding! Some of the pages are close to falling out (they've come 'unstuck' at the spine) D: (I just washi-taped them in place!) This is the only product from this brand that I’ve tried though (: I usually use a Rhodia Rhodiarama A6 dotted for my daily bullet journal/planner/journal. I like them a lot! Paper is smooth + a good thickness, and I find it takes a range of medium well (I use lots of kinds of pen + glue things in and the page quality isn’t affected by that (they don’t go wrinkly etc)) 

The pens I mentioned are 

- Staedtler triplus fineliners (the pastel pack!)  - Pilot G-tec c4 in a 0.4 tip - Stabilo PointMax Nylon tip pens - Tombow Dual Brush Pens 

So first impressions of the Mossery book? Love the layout - there’s lots of space and a variety of layouts so it looks like it’ll suit a lot of different spreads! The paper quality is disappointing though - the pens I tried look like they bleed through/ghost, and the paper didn’t seem to take the brush pens’ ink very smoothly (it almost looked as if the pigment pooled slightly? It’s tricky to explain, but very different to how writing on the Rhodia paper feels!)
