Sreski poljoprivredni referent Radojko Đoković dobio je početkom 1928. godine zadatak da sastavi opširan izveštaj o privrednim prilikama u Zlatiborskom srezu. Napisan na 15 strana, izveštaj daje jasnu sliku stanja u srezu. Izdvajamo delove koji se odnose na industriju, saobraćaj i trgovinu.

Industrija na Zlatiboru nije razvijena, konstatuje Đoković i dodaje da je najviše je zastupljena "industrija za preradu drva – parne strugare". Naviše ih je pored pruge Užice – Višegrad: dve u Kremnima i jedna u Mokroj Gori, "koje vrše preradu građe za unutrašnjost i izvoz na stranu. Postoji još jedna parna strugara uređena dobro, ali zbog udaljenosti od železničke stanice i rđavog puta za prevoz građe ne daje veće rezultate, ona se nalazi u Beloj reci. Postoji još jedna koja radi pomoću vode, i to vrlo retko (nema dovoljno vode) u Ribnici opštine jablaničke".
