This recipe for sushi rice makes the perfect base for your homemade sushi rolls. It's sticky and tasty. The tangy-sweet taste of the rice comes from the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt mixed together.
Ingredients: 2 cups sushi rice. 2 1/2 cups water. 1/3 cup rice vinegar. 3 tablespoons sugar. 1 teaspoon salt.
Instructions: Run cold water over the sushi rice until the water is clear. In a rice cooker, put the rice and water together and follow the directions on the box. Put the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small saucepan. Heat them over low heat until the sugar and salt are gone. Put the cooked rice in a large bowl. Use a wooden spoon or paddle to slowly mix in the vinegar mixture. As you fold the rice, fan it out to help it cool down and stick together. When the rice is cool enough to touch, you can use it to make sushi.
