Had the idea for a while so I’m not sure if I’ve made this post before
But a Rickorty AU where Morty, freshly 18 gets thrown in prison. His home life was never the best, an alcoholic mom and a loser Dad. Morty’s never even met Rick, for all he knows his Grandpa is dead, or at least that’s the impression his mom always gave off.
But then Morty makes som stupid mistakes, ends up in prison with a 3 year sentence and is absolutely terrified because despite being just barely an adult, he’s still small and lanky and knows he’ll get eaten alive.
Then Morty accidentally almost gets himself shanked day one and Rick intervenes. And Morty is like geez, thanks. Because he’s new, he doesn’t know Rick is actually one of the most powerful people in there. And Rick is like 😒 kid, youre going to get yourself eaten alive in here, you need protection. And he offers protection for sex and Morty is like what the fuck no and Rick is like suit yourself, but when you change your mind, I’ll be around, sweetheart.
And of course Morty can’t keep himself out of trouble and gets his ass kicked time and time again and finally he goes to Rick and makes a deal. And as soon as he says yes, Rick sends someone to shank the bastard that’s been harassing Morty. Then makes Morty suck him off, despite his busted up lip and black eye.
And Morty hates it, hates being in prison, hates his life, hates having to depend on Rick, hates everything. And Rick is brutal, serving several life sentences, but Morty puts up with it because that’s the only way he’ll make it out of there alive.
But over time Morty learns stuff about Rick. Like how smart he is. That he can be funny and sweet if he wants to, but it’s so rare to see. That he has a daughter he hasn’t seen in over 40 years. That he can give Morty the world within those walls so long as he submits. And eventually Morty fills the silence with stories of his own. And somewhere along the way he grows genuinely attached to Rick.
And Mortys release date is coming up, he counts the months, then the weeks, then there’s someone that hassles him just a little too much and takes it a little too far and he’s going to kill Morty, so Morty kills him instead. And it makes him fucking sick, but he had no choice. And now they’re going to add a murder charge to his time and he’ll never get out, and he’s hyperventilating and crying and Rick just calls him an idiot, but he has a plan.
So they break out. Simple as that, as if Rick had been planing it for years. Maybe he has, Morty doesn’t know. But he’ll be in Prison forever if he doesn’t get out now, so despite the little voice in his head saying it’s a bad idea he does it anyways. And they’re free. So Morty brings Rick home, knowing there’s money around and things to pawn and assuming no one will be there to greet him. But he’s wrong. the door swings open and Beth stares at him, wine bottle in hand.
“Morty? W-what are you… Dad?” She trails off and stares with a mix of shock and horror at Rick, who stares back with dread. And Morty’s confused, but putting the pieces in place. And he feels sick, so sick. Because’Dad’??? Rick is his Grandpa? It’s sick. It’s twisted. And after a long drawn out argument between the three of them, Morty cant bring himself to leave Rick and knocks out Beth, and follows Rick into his own demented ever after.
