In later years, we always saw the Rigelian Recorders sent out to observe the rest of the universe in an almost Watcher-like capacity, with much less power. Whether that was because they were hiding from Ego or what, IDK.
Ah, they were inhabitants of the Black Galaxy where Ego was and fearing him tried to colonize Earth…so maybe they are hiding from Ego still in current continuity.
