A knock on the door was always concerning at a motel, but for a hunter? Especially a hunter such as John Winchester? He wasn't taking any chances, but .. as soon as he opens the door and sees his son, it's like a barrier falls. His sons were always his weak spot. That did not mean his defenses here, would fail though. "Dean?" He breathes, and shoves the door wide open. He's assured in the devil's trap hidden under the rug at the entrace, as he reaches out to pull him inside.

Ryn looked at him, her blue eyes focused on him like a predator on her prey. She wasn’t going to let anything happen to Maddie and Ben or even Helen. Not all of the humans were evil and she had found some that weren’t and she wasn’t going to let them be hurt. They had helped her and protected her but now she had to do the same for them, from the people she was part of.

“No,” she said with her odd accent and a shake of her head. “Not all. Not Maddie...or Ben. Or Helen. They are good. They not hurt...us,” she stated, it was what she knew and she wasn’t going to let this go. “Kill the bad, yes...not the bad.” Even if she couldn’t return to her home she was still a mermaid, a siren and she was going to do what she had to not only to survive and make a life for herself but also protect her friends.

“Ah…probably not…” Dean grunted, wincing a little. “Can’t you convince him to let me stay the night? Tomorrow is Saturday and I was given some pain pills. I’ll just tell my folks that I spent the night at your place. They’ll understand. They both work late anyways and Sammy has a babysitter tonight.”

“My dad is usually pretty relaxed, but neither of my parents are the type to let a guy stay over. Maybe if I ask with you in the car too he’ll have no choice but to agree. -- Are you going to be okay with sleeping on the couch? We have a guest room upstairs too, but I doubt stairs are going to be your friend tonight.”

Sarah Presley was six years old. Her parents divorced shortly after her first birthday. Her mother Natalie never told her why. Or where her daddy was. She just knew daddy was gone. The daddy she grew up with was her stepdad. James. Who was abusive. James and Natalie have a daughter who is two years old. Her name is Samantha. Shortly before Sarah’s 6th birthday they separated. They are in the process of a divorce. Natalie’s second. Natalie was planning on getting custody of Samantha. As she had full custody of Sarah due to the fact Dean wasn’t around. But if Dean came into the picture that could change. Sarah was out at a gas station with her mother and 2 year old sister. There was a man with a cool car. It was an Impala. Sarah nudged her mom. “look at that car.” she said. Samantha mimicked her big sister. “mama. Look at car.” she said. Natalie turned to see Dean her ex husband and his brother Sam. Who she never met, but only seen pictures and heard stories of. “We gotta go...” Natalie said. Sarah shook her head. “No no no. I wanna meet the man with the car.” Natalie knew she couldn’t get out of it. “So she walked Sarah over to Dean. But turned her back in hopes Dean couldn’t tell it was her.” Sarah smiled. “Mister. I like your car.” she said.

Sam gave his brother a skeptical look, just one of a hundred he’d doled out throughout the day, nothing outstanding. Winchester e Winchester.

“Am I reading too much into your liver, or did you just try to make a ghost pun?” His scathing eyebrows veered towards the map in his hand-- which deftly moved a thumb to cover up the little bunch of grapes (stock imagery, no doubt) indicating ‘beer garden’ in the fest’s legend.

“Can’t you think of anything you’d like to do besides drink? Well, besides THAT, and drinking.” Dean’s ‘wit’, if nothing else of his, was quick. Sam knew if he didn’t beat him to it, Dean wouldn’t miss the opportunity-- can’t spell opportunity without porn-- to defile his ethical sibling’s ears with explicits.
