Would you sleep with Jarvan?
“…oh, you mean like, if we happened to be on the same diplomatic mission and there weren’t enough space, right?” Lux smiles sweetly, “Of course I wouldn’t mind sharing a bed with him. I can’t imagine it being necessary, though.”
(SORRY I MESSED THAT UP) +J4. Definitely 4
((OH THANK JESUS))
“I-- That isn’t- The Prince has far too much to do to set aside time for such trivialities.”
And besides, Lux has never pictured him as the type of person to, well, hook up.
--
((Yes. Please. It still needs a shipname, by the way. This is number one on the extremely short lists of ships in which Lux can actually be sustainably happy and honestly I find them ridiculously cute together and compatible. And let’s be real Garen would be the most thrilled puppybrother in the universe if they got together. For his reaction, see the following: https://youtu.be/al4PcS2tzjU?t=53s until 1:28.))
00:00:00 GIVE ME THE TINIES
Lux is five years old, and there is nothing as exciting as sneaking outside to join her brother. He is sparring with a friend- always sparring, even when he does sit with her to play it’s never as long as he spends in the yard- in shining, regal garb even though it’s only practice armor. She will be scolded for it later, but she slipped away from the care of one of many sitters to fumble with the glass door leading to her brother’s practice ring and trot outside.
She is dressed in all the frilly, parent-pleasing garb that children are usually forced into, and her brother’s friend has his back to her when she approaches, the grass soft enough not to rip her tights, though she forgot to put on shoes.
“Garen!” Her shrill voice rings out and she breaks into a run, smile wide as the first day of Snowdown, “Garen, who’s that?”
The littlest Crownguard does not notice the static timer glowing on her wrist as she reaches the edge of the ring. She glances eagerly between her brother and the fancy looking boy with the wooden lance, still too young to recognize royalty in front of her.
Jarvan IV. (A reason why not to hate politics perhaps? )
Reasons I might ship it: Lux is a reasonable and understanding snowflake and she would take very good care of her delicate PTSD-having Prince. In all seriousness Jarvan is just about the best possible end-game she can imagine when it comes to her love life, and if he were kind and good to her she would reciprocate. You have two people who have been raised by the Demacian standards of generosity and mercy and selflessness- that could be an incredibly beneficial relationship for both of them. Also, Garen would be best man at their wedding and c’mon you know he would cry like a baby giving his toast.
Reasons I might not ship it: You know the whole ‘ha ha marriage how’s the old ball and chain’ joke that weird antisocial single guys make? J4 would literally be a ball and chain- if marriage does become her end-game, that’s it. She is going to become his Queen, have and raise his children, sit dutifully at his side and be looked at as an absolute fucking monster if she ever leaves him. That’s not how you create a healthy relationship. Also, the way that I HC the whole ‘arranged marriage’ thing working amongst the nobility is that in most cases, either party would be able to veto a match (if their parents were reasonable). If Lux quietly went to her mother and father and told them that, no, she isn’t the least bit interested in the Buvelle boy, so could she possibly not? They would nod their heads and find someone else. Because she did it without publicly insulting another house and with fucking tact, FIORA. Now, on the other hand, if she were set up with J4? Haha, you can’t say no to that. You can’t claim that the Prince of Demacia isn’t a suitable match for you, that’s a fucking insult to the Crown. Now sure, she wouldn’t be executed, nobody would be exiled, Demacians aren’t unreasonable- but she would be looked at as either A: a goddamn idiot or B: An awful person.
For Garen, there is another parcel--very cleanly wrapped, and addressed to 'a dear friend.' Inside is a mass of thick, soft fabric, in a tasteful navy blue and trimmed with gold. Upon closer examination, it's clearly a scarf, and the ends are emblazoned with the crest of Demacia. Pinned to one fold is a note. "As the coming months will be cold, I thought perhaps you could use a spare. A happy Snowdown to you, my brother." It is signed simply as 'Jarvan.'
It takes him all of two seconds to put the scarf on once he’s read the note, although adjusting it to where it’s comfortable required more time than that. Garen is of the opinion that it’s a rather dashing scarf, and he’ll have to thank Jarvan for it later, preferably in person.
Sneaks up behind Jarvan. Slams a Santa hat on his head.

At Evette's front door is a parcel--*shockingly* heavy, given its modest size. It is wrapped in humble brown paper, and filled, absolutely filled with books of all kinds. Fantasy, grand adventure, philosophy--nearly every genre is represented in this neatly arranged box. Tucked beneath all of these tomes is a cloth, as well as a note. "Enjoy the wonders of distant worlds. I think this should satisfy your mind for some months, at least. P.S.: The handkerchief is for your arm. Keep it polished."
Evette lugged in the parcel and set it on the table. She carefully opened and gasped audible. Stacking the books out one by one, she couldn’t believe all these different titles. The handkerchief was soft and would surely help with her arm. Once Evette read the note she smiled to herself. “......Wow...”
