Hey, wake up, a new creepy Re: Dracula song just dropped
Van Helsing: Lucy is dying, Arthur.
Vampire Lucy: no I'm not! Gimme a kiss, baby! *bares fangs*
Arthur: don't mind if I do!
Van Helsing: *strangles Arthur with both hands and throws him across the room* not on your life, Romeo.
Vampire Lucy: rats, foiled again. *dies*
Poor Lucy has died today again, she left this world after nights of suffering, and many blood transfusions, but now she can finally rest, and sleep soundly.
... If it's wasn't for fucking Dracula deciding to simply continue her suffering by turning her into a vampire in a house full of her loved ones. because if they think that they can't let him kill her... Then maybe her killing all of them is a good retribution for trying to stop him.
Watching poor Arthur going through all of this grief was painful. He loved Lucy with all of his heart, they were going to marry this month! And then he lost her to an "unknown illness" that drained all of her, both in body and mind. I can't imagine what is going through his head after seeing Lucy die in front of him. Her begging for a last kiss as a goodbye, and Arthur couldn't even give her that because Van Helsing can't let anyone close to Lucy's mouth. Arthur doesn't know what happened to Lucy, and that makes everything so much worse.
But Lucy, sweet and kind Lucy died fighting, even if it didn't look like it. She died fighting the horrible transformation that was inevitable, and that is what made her strong. She pulled her garlic flowers close to her as if they were a shield that would help her stop it. She survived long enough to give Arthur and Seward a goodbye. Lucy knew it was a goodbye, she knew what was happening to her, even if she didn't know the name of it, and what matters is that she fought against it even if it was futile.
"My true friend, and his! Oh, guard him, and give me peace!" - Lucy Westenra, september 20.
"I swear it!" - Abraham Van Helsing, september 20.
This is the proof of her strength.
A silent promise between Lucy and Van Helsing. A promise of rest that was left unsaid to the ones who don't know. This interaction to Seward and Arthur may look weird, but to us, Van Helsing, and Lucy it means everything. Lucy made Van Helsing swear that he will give her peace, that he will protect Arthur and everyone else.
Lucy gave Van Helsing the permission to kill her, this time for good.
So good night to Lucy, beloved by many. May the children of the night grant you mercy before angels come from the heavens to free your soul once more.
Brb phoning in sick from work while I grieve over the death of a fictional character from a 125 year old novel.
A Guided Meditation
Imagine you are leaning down to kiss your fiancée one last time before she dies. The room is quiet and somber. Perhaps there are tears. Focus on your breathing, on your heart. Imagine she looks voluptuous. Close your eyes and hear her ask for one last kiss. Focus on the rise and fall of her whispering breath, on the red of her lips, on the depth of your sorrow.
Now, imagine two hands encircling your neck and throttling you,
September 13th
Van Helsing: finally, my treatment is working! Lucy might live yet!
Lucy's mom: oh Doctor! So good to see you :D By the way I removed those horrible horrible flowers from Lucy's room and left the windows wide open all night long. You'll be happy to hear the smell is finally gone
Van Helsing: ...why do I even try at this point
the grimace shake Fucking Got Her
*Me on September's 18 entry*: Wow, I didn't remember Lucy's death to be so dramatic and violent 😢
*Me on September's 20 entry*: ohh 😔
