Something I want to expand on eventually assuming the finale doesn’t prove me wrong on every front :
After June gets to Canada, she spends every waking moment terrorizing everyone. Understandably so, but there’s no room for anyone else.
She antagonizes Rita in the kitchen. The other girls at the meetings. Emily. Luke.
She’s running amuck and lashing out. And everyone gave her time and patience and space, even when it was taking a toll on them.
That’s what makes Moira the perfect mediator.
She gets it. She’s experienced Gilead. She’s also been out long enough to begin to heal. She’s worked with survivors. Had to understand each individual and their unique experience in hell.
Then she gets June back. Her best friend. Someone she knew not just before, but during. Someone who reminds her of her own excruciating memories.
They’ve suffered together. They’ve killed together.
And now, they’ve been saved and assisted by Nick together. Twice.
So, Moira can see things in a way others can’t. With a clear head. With perspective.
And she doesn’t judge June or Nick.
Because she gets it. What Gilead is. What it does to people. The choices it takes away. The pieces of them it leaves in its wake.
And I think Janine would get it, too.
Janine who would forgive June for giving up the others to protect her daughter. Janine who found a version of comfortability with Lawrence, however strained. Janine who trusted Nick enough to speak in code.
So, we have Janine and Moira. Two people who arguably know June best; who can understand her best.
And we have Rita
Rita, who has watched Nick & June from beginning to end. Who tried to reach Nick in his darkness and reacted to it by joining the resistance.
These three women, all of whom seem as Team Nick as in universe characters can reasonably be.
Idk, seems pretty in osblaine’s favor.
