Dreaming is something he’s never gotten to experience. Sometimes he’d fantasize about sleeping, getting to participate in firsthand. Sure, he’s gotten his fair share of stories from others and the bizarre objects, situations and people who have made appearances in their subconscious mind via snoozeland. Stories usually fascinated him but the tales of something he’d never understood and maybe never would always left a bad taste in his mouth. The abstract concept of dreams filled him with wonder one moment and lying through his teeth the next.
“There was a giant slide – much like those blow up ones kids have at their birthday parties sometimes. Only the one I saw was made up of pizza.”
“Made of pizza? I find that hard to believe...” She mused over her iced coffee, her lips nibbling at the rim of the straw. “Unless of course, you went to bed hungry. Then I absolutely feed for you.” A an accidental pun, she wasn’t sure whether or not she should correct herself. So she opted for nonchalant-ness, continuing to drink before speaking up again. However, a few small, consecutive swallows and still no response on her end. The silence was chilling, but only dramatically. Jieun could be such a master of social decorum and then lose her winning streak by the simplest of blunders. Feel, not feed. How stupid! She looks back at him, trying to cover her error with more questions.
“Were there toppings? Or just cheese? I hope you dream lucidly, I would have had to immediately have my clothes cleaned. All that oil? Pah.” She snorts too quickly, causing a sudden wave of dust to enter her air passageways. A chorus of sneezes ensues.
