Honestly it felt like it had lasted an eternity. Maybe it had because his work had been cut off in the middle of everything back when he had first started to hand out flyers, but even this time with only half a pile from the original it seemed like it had taken way too long. Or maybe he was just impatient. Or maybe it was both. Either way he was on the last flyer now and this one he just had to get rid off, so he called out to the first and the best which was an older and far taller male.

“Hyung!” he said, but was seemingly ignored. How strange. Oh well, Daehwi was not one to give up just like that. “Hyung! Hyung hyung hyung hyung hyung--!” he continued calling out until he got a reaction out of the male. Then as the guy turned around Daehwi was star struck for a moment with how beautiful the other was. “Whoa!” he gasped before holding out a flyer with outdated information. “Hey! Take this! This is a flyer for Nova! You should definitely try audition sometimes you’re so pretty I’m sure they’d fight for you!”

This time he was definitely going to succeed. Although wanting nothing more than to get back into the practice room and chill in the air conditioned surroundings rather than be out in the heat that was the summer of Korea. Using the pile of flyers to fan himself with rather than hand them out Daehwi was sitting on a bench for the time being, trying to motivate himself to finish up. The lot was getting a lot smaller, that much was for sure, but it still felt like he had an eternity left to do.

A gust of wind came suddenly, pulling the flyers out of his hand, and Daehwi let out a yelp, grabbing some in the air, but watching as the rest mercilessly fell to the asphalt. “Don’t do that...” he whined and started crouching down to collect them again, when footsteps stopped right before him and a girl crouched down. “Ah, you don’t have to help!” he insisted fumbling around a bit more before getting an idea and holding out a flyer to her. “But if you could take one of these then I’d be very happy!”

The thing about being who he was, was that sometimes Daehwi abandoned projects in the middle of everything. Maybe he got bored, maybe something else caught his attention. Maybe he remembered he had to do something somewhere else. There could be many reasons for unfinished work, especially when it came to chores, homework and other stuff that seemed bothersome. But after locating a stack of papers in the corner of his room, long forgotten, Daehwi had realised he had forgotten something he probably shouldn’t have. Thus it was out with him again, into the hot streets of Seoul to pass out flyers that were probably outdated by now.

Stopping a tall woman in her tracks, he held out the slip of paper. “Here! Can you please take this?!” he asked with enthusiasm in his voice, but begging in his words. “I need to get rid of these or I’m pretty sure someone is going to get mad at me at some point!”

Honestly speaking he could probably easily have emptied his pile by remaining in one spot provided it was crowded enough. People came and went all the time and if all else went to hell he could just dump the entire pile on one person and leave. It was perfect. But staying in one place meant that new potential fans across Seoul didn’t get the chance to encounter him after all, so of course he uprooted his camp and took the subway to the nearest neighbourhood. Here he yet again began delivering.

There was just one problem with this tactic. It seemed he had invaded on someone else’s turf. At first he hadn’t noticed the other, but soon enough Eric saw people walk around with flyers looking much like his own, and naturally he couldn’t sate his curiosity. Soon he found the culprit and quietly went up to him handing him a flyer. “You take one of mine I take one of yours?” he offered. Perfect plan for both of them.

Handing out flyers was going pretty smoothly and although Eric couldn’t see an end to his pile yet, he was in high spirits. Sociable by nature he had no troubles with hitting up strangers on the street and even managed to see it as some sort of game, a preparation for what he might be doing later on when preparing for debut and having to do random fanmeets on the streets to lure in new fans. But that was still ways away, and right now Eric needed to focus on the task at hand no matter how tempting daydreaming about success was, because in front of him was an incredibly cute girl, and Eric could feel a lump form in his throat as he tried to speak. 

“U-uhm.” The sound came out with an embarrassing stutter, and Eric held forth the paper, bowing his head so he wouldn’t have to look at her. “Please take this!” he exclaimed loudly. “My success is all up to you so please don’t abandon me!” With such words he forced the flyer into her hands, turned on his heels and ran away as quickly as he could.

Once he had begun it went much more smoothly and initially anticipated. The cold wasn’t as biting as he had feared and he was in high spirits over doing something that seemed like a totally official introductory event, and Eric couldn’t help but hum to himself thinking about how Hwichan must have done this too. That bastard never told him anything about trainee life, so Eric knew nothing.

“Excuse me!” he began again, beaming with excitement. But that excitement quickly came to a halt when he saw who he had stopped. No matter how you looked at it this guy was too old to want to be an idol wasn’t he? So giving him a flyer would probably be pointless. “Ah, sorry, nevermind!” Eric hurriedly excused himself, but then his mind went into another area. What if he had a kid or a niece or nephew or something who was interested? Then it totally wouldn’t be a waste and he’d have done a good job still! Stopping the man again, he changed his mind. “Ah, after all, please take this!”

Seoul was incredibly cold around this time of the year, and Eric hadn’t been looking forward to the commute from school to the Nova building. But at least he could find solace in the fact that it’d be warm again once inside, if not for the heating, then for the fact that he would be sweating a lot dancing. That was the plan at least. The last thing he had been expecting was to be sent into the streets of Seoul to advertise for his new company. Was this some kind of new trainee hazing? It had to be right? No one in their right mind would spend hours doing something like this after all. Not when he could spend time getting better instead.

But who was he to complain when a task was asked of him? So of course Eric pulled into his jacket and scarf and ventured out into the cold. Facing many a rejection, some outright ignoring him and some excusing themselves with being busy it was starting to seem like a bigger task than first anticipated. So it was time to shake things up a bit. “You! Stop!” he yelled at random, and the first person who reacted he quickly ran over to and practically pushed the flyer into the boy’s hands. “Take this! My life depends on it.” Maybe too severe a presentation, but Eric was nothing if not dramatic. Thus he handed over the first flyer detailing the upcoming schedules of Nova entertainment.
