♫ Blue sky white clouds greenThe leaves are shaking slightly in the windSunbed shadesYour tanned skin shines like glassUnder the sun breaks the obsession of time
KT Summer Vacation AU...
it was the perfect weather, blue sky, only a few white clouds at the horizon, a refreshing breeze in their hair. it was the perfect day to spend a free, relaxing day at the beach, with crystal clear waters and sand between their toes gray couldn't complain about a single thing. he took out his sunglasses and put it on his nose, as he let himself fall back onto a towel he had placed under the protecting shade of a parasol. the rapper let his eyes wander around, watched the other trainees playing beach volleyball or enjoying the cool of the waves aorund their shaped bodies. with a hum he stretched himself, raising his brows, as he heard a familiar voice calling his name.
when he looked up, he saw behind his shades joohyun who approached him in her purple bikini, a water polo ball on her arms. "oppa, why are you lazing around? come play water polo with me." boldly she grabbed his wrist and pulled him up, so he could join her in playing. the sun was shining harshly on them, but the water looked quite tempting, so he raised himself and grinned at her, while rotating his arm around its axis. "alright, let's have a match then. but don't pout, when i'll beat you."
they exchanged competitive gazes, before they run towards the waves, calling other trainees to join them. it was just the perfect day to play in the waters.
♫ Some call it love and some call it sex. oppositesCall it what you want but with one touchAnd you're gone so call in sickLovescream
[trigger warning: alcohol]
there were still so many more moments kang joon wanted to enjoy with her, so many more memories and experiences he wanted to make. but things hadn't gone the way he had hoped them to develop or turn out, and kang joon was once again left heartbroken. his mind was chaotic mess, thoughts drifting away over and over again and there was nothing that could convince him to move his heavy body out of his bed. well almost nothing, but the call of one of his closest friends. hearing aron's voice distracted him for a moment, let him forget about the sickness he felt within him. he too had been torn apart, left broken. it was distant in his voice, yet the occassional shaking gave it away. raising himself from his bed, he sat at the corner for a few seconds, before he stood up to get himself ready to go out with his friend.
kang joon felt like shit, and that was exactly the kind of look he was sporting right now, though he couldn't care less about it at the moment. all he wanted just now was drowning his sorrows in alcohol with a friendly soul next to him.
when he arrived, aron had already sat down, busy ordering bottles of soju. he settled down in front of him, letting out a sigh after greeting the younger man. pouring aron a drink, he let his gaze wander across the other's expression. he looked just like him, dishevelled, tired, deprived of any life. silently they sat in front of each other, eyes not meeting, while the clacking of their cups against the table turned into a steady rhythm. they didn't needed many words to understand how the other felt, they were in the same boat after all. in the end bros would never betray you, right?
♫ I don’t smile anymore like beforeI don’t care about love anymore, my heart is all crushed
[/trigger warning: heart break, negativity]
he wasn't himself and maybe he would never be again. after falling in love kang joon had believed he had become a better version of himself and a better human in general. but apparently not. there was always a reason to leave, leave him behind and all alone once again. it was him, the beast that couldn't be loved no matter what. kang joon was devasted, his heart crushed and everything he had ever believed in was just a lost case to him.
wandering around the royal building like an undead, kang joon eventually bumped into yoojung who seemed quite worried about the state he was in. she didn't know about what had actually happened and kang joon didn't even intended to tell her about it, since he couldn't pull even more people into this mess. how many hours had he walked around without settling down, without actually doing a thing for training? kang joon was aware that there was still so much to learn, and yet, his mind just couldn't calm down, was just a chaos of pain and thoughts.
his fellow trainee pulled him aside, pushed him down on a bench and handed him over a drink. as she asked him if he was alright, he shoke his head, burying his face in his hand. several sleepless nights had wore him down, just a little longer and he would break down like a twig in the wind. "i don't care anymore... i'll just stay a beast."
♫ I have grown dark In one moment, I lost the light inside of me
Backdated to summer 2014!
if there was anything he could call each other, then it was brief acquaintances. kang joon knew that jisoo was one of her best friends and he had met her a few times before, but there had been no real interaction between them. she and the others had always felt indifferent, maybe even distanced towards him, as if they knew that rose would leave him soon. though he couldn't hold it against them since he didn't really went out of his way to befriend them either.
kang joon stood in front of his ex-girlfriend's door, face hidden underneath a hoodie, turning the pale expression towards the sound of footsteps that closened up to him. when she halted to look at him, his amber-coloured eyes stared at her. the usual fire was gone, the light had vanished from the orbs that were his strongest characteristic. his hand was touching the door frame and for a moment the two of them just stared at each other in silence. he wondered how much jisoo knew, how much her friend had actually told her about the relationship that had shattered into thousand upon thousands of pieces like glass.
he let go of the door frame, let out a pained sighed, before he walked towards jisoo. as he passed her, he stopped and mumbled "please don't tell her, i was here." before leaving.
♫ And my throat swallowing only the agony has lost its voiceLittle by little, my everything just freezes as it is
Lost Voice AU...
[/trigger warning: mentions of sickness, car accident]
gray had known that kind of feeling, even though it had been of different origin than it was for yoohyeon. the two of them weren't friends, just barely acquaintanced to each other through his younger cousin. he had just tagged along, when he had asked if gray could drive him to the hospital his friend was in. a mere tonsilitis had turned into a complicated case and in the end yoohyeon had to be operated, had to get her tonsils removed. her case seemed so severe that the doctors couldn't guarantee that she would be able to sing like before. for someone who dreamt of becoming a singer to be told that kind of thing was surely a nightmare.
he had felt just the same, when he was diagnosed with his loss of ability of speech soon after his car accidents a few months ago. as a rapper not being able to even produce words were just bad news. and the insecurity about his future had him destroyed him as much as it had brought him despair. gray could relate to the tears yoohyeon was shedding, when gikwang came into her room to visit her. he could relate to the crying, to the desperate hug, to the need of not letting go of the person who was comforting her. she was feeling helpless, just as he had felt. there was nothing that could help her right now. just time would be able to tell if she would be able to recover or not.
♫ In my eyes, your body has the mostBeautiful lines than any other linesYour dark hair, I melt in its scent
MinRay AU...
Minhee had told him several times before how he was her ideal type and he had never believed her. He had always thought she was just being kind, trying to flatter him to ease his soul that was so self-destructive that it told him how he wasn’t worth the money KT was spending on him. She had said oftentimes that she liked how he was a gentleman, always friendly and empathic to those around him. GRAY didn’t felt like those words were describing him too well, he was just a ordinary guy in a hurriedly developing world. He was nowhere near to what she called an ideal, and was certain that he would never be.
When they somehow managed to talk about ideal types once again, GRAY looked her in the eyes and smiled at her gently. “I am not the type of guy you think I am. I am not as nice and friendly and talented as you believe I am.” He shoke his head as he took a sip of his beer, and averted his eyes. Minhee repeated herself, assuring him that she was serious about it and how he was much better than he thought he was. She lifted her hand and cupped his cheek softly, gazing deep into his eyes. Both of them smiled and for the first time GRAY realized how pretty Minhee was, how he liked the shape of her eyes and the curve of her pinkish lips. Her body lines were astonishing, dazzling and like in trance, GRAY moved forward, pulled her into an embrace to place a kiss to her head.
we out here dripping in finesse / it don’t make no sense
there’s a flicker of a smile towards no one in particular that makes its way across his lips as he pushes the gymnasium doors open, releasing a rush of music accompanied by air lukewarm with summer in mid-swing.
albeit an unfamiliar feeling, there isn’t an ounce of unease broiling as he makes his way across the grand enclosure, the floor smooth and waxed enough to hear the subtle sounds of his dress shoes brushing against it as he slips into the crowd, the murmuring bodies that sway side to side in the dim lighting to the muffled bass, some attached in pairs and others alone, nursing drinks or exchanging furtive glances across the room at some blissfully unaware soul.
typically, his mind would be filled to the brim with other things – especially for the past few months, with college apps and interviews and lectures from teachers about how it’s your last year, make the most of it and don’t screw it up all swarming around in one, confusing mess.
( maybe it’s the realization that he would no longer have to spend his days cooped up in class, studying tirelessly without looking up for even a second that makes the giddy feeling of contentment well up inside of him. wow, he almost misses here already, even though he still has a month until graduation. )
seungjoon, matching hyojin with his own black tuxedo and bowtie, had seemingly disappeared elsewhere, perhaps to find a certain figure by the punch table, the conjecture causing the corner of the senior’s mouth to quirk up in amusement at the fact that he was probably right. well, no matter – he was happy enough, and so were most of the others in his grade, afflicted by a similarly fortunate situation. he continues to swim his way through, exchanging nods of heads with some and firing back quick compliments at others, before he stops short.
a few feet forward, gravitating towards the wall but still awkwardly hovering somewhere in between the side of the room and the middle, stands a lovely girl in a red dress, her back facing him but her side profile and the soft edges of her features vividly striking.
( feels like the world is slowing down around him. )
anyone else wouldn’t have seen it in that moment, but months of passing by each other in the hall and friendly but strangely shy conversations make the distressed gleam in her gaze and desperate attempts to cover it up by taking a careful sip of punch while stealing glances at another suited figure not too far away all too obvious to his perceptive eyes, and it allows him to quickly connect the dots.
( ooh, don’t we look good together? there’s a reason why they watch all night long )
taking a few steps forward, slow but steady, he can feel the soft smile spreading across his lips, eyes wrinkling at the corners and shining with a strangely gentle quality to them as her figure grew closer and closer.
( yeah, know we’ll turn heads forever / so tonight i’m gonna show you off )
he’s not sure what’s playing in the background, but it’s some kind of american song with a catchy beat and notably brighter swing to it, because everyone is starting to move around faster and sway along with it. although it makes his heart twist to see the dark cloud hanging over the girl’s head double within the first few seconds of the melody, now starting to rain as she continues to stand alone as the only non-pair left on the floor, he manages to rest a careful hand on her shoulder, leaning down ever to her ear, not too close for comfort but not too far away, either.
“jiwon-ah.”
when she turns around to face him with a start, the fullness of her features now highlighted by the glowing, star-shaped lights that hang from the ceiling and dark eyes widening like the night sky around them, hyojin lets out a soft laugh.
he’s not sure what overtakes him at the moment, a strange revelation or even the hints of a flutter in his chest. without knowing, he grasps onto her hand lightly, giving her ample time and ability to pull away if desired, as if asking for silent permission. when she doesn’t recoil, his thumb presses softly into her palm, his gaze warm on hers.
and as they stand there, the boy in black and the girl in red amongst a swarm of other colors swatched by the white stars above, he asks,
♫ Yes, like a past scent that touches meThe many past daysCan you save Can you save me?
Same aged school friends AU...
[/trigger warning: mentions of street fights, blood, parental death]
there weren't many who knew of his past, knew of the beast that was sealed deep within him. kang joon wasn't proud of what he had become, school was tiring, the pain was unbearable, he was lonely. all those kids around him didn't understood him, nor did they had seen what he had seen. jungwoo was the only one who had dared to approach him, to get to know him, the real him, despite all the rumours and the truths. even though kang joon was a fighter, and not as gentle as he might look at the first glance, the two of them established a friendly relationship, maybe could even call each other friends and jungwoo became the supporting pillar, kang joon could rely on. somehow jungwoo managed to tame the beast, managed to keep him calm, when he was about to rage out once again.
there were so many reasons for him to sink in madness, people who talked behind his back about the kid who had lost his parents, about the boy who could only be satiesfied if he let his fist sink into others' faces. those weren't groundless rumors, as in every rumor there was always a speck of truth and kang joon knew that he was short-tempered, lashed out way too easily and couldn't control himself. if it wasn't for jungwoo who had his way in keeping him safe and away from the troubles and things could have gone so well, the future could have been so much brighter, if not for that one comment, how kang joon's grandmother was able to raise him that well, and how she did work, away from the public eyes' to see.
there was blood everywhere, at the ground the bastard who had spouted this nonsense, inconscious, other students storming away in terror. kang joon trembled, and stared at his hands, that were coloured in red. his eyes widened, when he saw jungwoo coming around the corner, backing away from the sight. staggering, he made steps towards his friends, tears filling his eyes, as he held out the sullied hand. "jungwoo, save me."
