David: All right Dad, what's going on? You're on time, you brought a gift...
David: It's 6 o'clock and you don't smell like tequila.
Robert: What? I can't make a good impression?
James: No. That is why we're confused.

[Robert drinking in a bar]
Robert: I am really sick of being a parent today. It has been FOUR MONTHS since anybody other than me and my wife have been responsible for him.
Robert: It's hard.
Robert: I feel like non-parents have no idea how hard it's been.
Killian: Actually, we do. That's why we're not parents.
I read this book when I was younger called “Do You Know The Monkey Man” and it’s about a girl who’s twin sister died when they were young in a boating accident. Her parents divorced shortly after and she never heard from her father after that.
When she’s older, she decides to go looking for her father...and finds out that her sister never died. Her parents were getting a divorce and her father didn’t want to lose his girls, so he staged the accident. He was going to take both, but something went wrong (I can’t remember what).
Now, all I can imagine is a OUAT AU, with David and James in this situation, because let’s be real...it’s something Robert would do.
@loboselinaistrash
Okay, new headcanon. And @mystical-flute can still yell at me for giving her feels here.
Ruth didn’t go to the Underworld or Olympus. She went to Supernatural’s version of Mary’s Heaven. In that world, she never had to give up James. Robert doesn’t turn to drinking. Her eternity is the perfect day with her two young boys.
Zeus knew that James was in the underworld and couldn’t subject her to that, but also couldn’t leave her with the husband that failed her in Olympus. He gave her peace, after a lifetime of guilt.
Not to mention, wouldn’t bringing James to their farm only put a huge target on them?
“Oh look, my son is missing. I wonder where he could be? Let’s ask this puppet that can’t lie...thanks, alright, let’s go raid this farm.”
You need to stop drinking for more than one night before you come up with your genius plans, Bobby Boy.
A heartbreaking parallel.
Awww baby James :( Before he was all corrupt and shit.
All Robert wanted to do was bring him home and save him. This is terrible.
