okay super late to the party but finally watched Disenchanted, mainly bc queen idina menzel was in it and also queen amy adams AND maya rudolph.
anyway so i have questions about nancy, actually? like i really want to know how miss no nonsense, i run a fashion boutique in new york city just up and decided you know what, screw all this, i’m moving to a fantasy kingdom? like what kind of life was she leading before this and how bad did it have to be for her to just leave everything behind? did she not have friends and family?
also how did her and edward fall in love? how did she go from practical street smart new york woman to the one we see in Disenchanted?
it was a pretty good sequel tho and “the flowers on your dress bring out the… other flowers on your dress” is 100% something i would say as someone who’s main goal in life is to become a flower growing druid lmao.
WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS??
@augustwritingchallenge Day 15: Hanahaki Disease
What if Giselle’s spell had been a little bit different...
Giselle had fought tooth and nail to adapt to a world she wasn’t made of. A world where happy endings weren’t guaranteed. And she got her prince charming in the end, didn’t she? Well... not quite. She loved Edward, just... just not in the way he loved her. And that’s okay. What’s not okay is the fact she’s going to never see Robert again...
Robert loved Nancy. That was the truth. He just... just loved Giselle more. He hadn’t felt that kind of affection and warmth in so, so long, probably never, but he couldn’t give up on the woman in his arms for some princess he’d known for a few days. Nancy didn’t deserve that, would never deserve that, especially not from him.
When Giselle bites the apple and starts coughing up flowers, Robert is left in shock. Unable to do anything but watch the woman he maybe loves choke and die. He’s given that final push by Nancy, though, and she tells him the only thing that’ll save Giselle: true love’s kiss.
The ‘so, McDreamy knows how to dance’ line in Grey’s Anatomy (I haven’t watched most of it, just random Derek scenes, because for some reason, I really love that guy) has a WHOLE DAMN NEW MEANING after you watch Enchanted...man. (Doing that now).
Auradon prep put on a production on Enchanted
The cast
Evie. Giselle
Doug. Robert Phillip.
Dizzy. Morgan Phillip
Lonnie. Nancy tremaine
Gil. Prince Edward
Chad. Nathaniel
Mal. Queen Nerissa. (Mal was kinda plopped into the role because she can transform into a dragon)
Show highlights
Evie managed to get everyone in the audience to participate during “that’s how you know”. The effect was kinda broken when Gil took a pratfall halfway through. But it’s part of the character so nobody minded
Mal looking out to the audience in disdain when chad had to force himself to show her affection
Once again. Mal provides all the special effects. From the portal to the queens transformation into a dragon
Carlos’s rendition of “so close (and yet so far)” was considered the emotional highlight
Audience reactions
Ben considered Doug and Eviethe best thing about the production. Though he bawled like a baby when Evie killed Mal
Huma however laughed so much they choked on air.
Jay gave Carlos a standing ovation.
Jane thought Mal was a little too good as the queen. Chad’s role as Nathaniel she thought was a role he was born to play

@augustwritingchallenge Day 6: Fairies (loosely inspired by Tinker Bell)
Giselle is a fairy, born from the laugh of Morgan Phillip. While she has been alive for quite a few years now, she’s secretly grown bored of her life in Pixie Hollow. When Prince Edward proposes to her, Giselle ends up panicking and ends up destroying the decorations by accident. His stepmother, Queen Narissa, takes this as an opportunity to remove her wings and banish her to the human realm.
Robert loved his daughter with all his heart. After the death of his wife, he and Morgan only had each other, and a few years ago also got Nancy in their lives. But right when he’s starting to look at rings, Morgan starts talking to one of her imaginary friends again. But never, and he means never, in a million years did he think she was hiding a tiny person in her room.
The two strike up a friendship, albeit an odd one, and work together to get Giselle home and gain her wings back. After days spent using pixie dust to fly, talking about Pixie Hollow, and finding out Edward had gone to look for her, the two consider the possibility that maybe, just maybe, it’d be better if Robert could find a way to turn his fairy friend human.
