Madi left us fevering for more of her sultry twisting, sinuous seductive voice after the rising Los Angeles starlet made a striking solo debut with Reprisal last month. If you missed out on that captivating torrent of dark pop, future trap, and electro, you can visit our feature, here. For her second single, the commanding siren, who’s collaborated with a bevy of amazing electronic talent in the past (ie. slushii, StayLoose, and more), unites with Moving Castle co-founder Robokid on White Horse. Like Reprisal, there’s an murky opaqueness to this bewitching take on dark pop and future trap. It comes as no surprise that Madi’s influenced by the likes of Banks, Jai Paul, and Sevdaliza. Her moody searing voice entwines with Robokid’s percussive skittering, synth churning production as well as his glossy sweltering vocals. White Horse is a visceral haunting ballad, heavily steeped in desolation and love-struck despair, a tormented entanglement of embattled anguish. Madi’s forthcoming debut EP is shaping up to be a consuming dive into the affairs of the restless heart. Stream/download White Horse, featuring Robokid, here.
