if i had a nickel for every time alan tudyk played the protagonist’s sassy robot companion…
What if Robot 4/Gary is the one who tampered with the message, his main directive is to follow Superman and protect him so when a young Clark came to the fortress for the first time and wanted to do good as Superman, 4/Gary took it upon himself to "Protect Superman" in his own logical way by shielding Clark from the truth
I doubt this is what happened and it really was just damaged on the way to Earth but it's fun to think about
