Eddie and Waylon’s friendship is so special to me 😭
I’m on S6 Ep4 and Eddie coaching Waylon through reading has me in a chokehold.
Another reason why Rogues! Eddie is my favorite iteration cause even if he’d never admit it, he actually has a great capacity for kindness and compassion.
His interactions with Waylon are the biggest example. He’s so gentle with him, never treating him like he’s dumb and ugh my heartttt
This matters sm to me as someone who A) is a huge fan of him and B) is Autistic as fuck and struggles with things like reading aloud (I’m likely dyslexic and discalculic), abstract concepts (Riddles are kinda abstract to me tbh, I’m very bad at them most of the time), etc.
Rogues! Eddie is someone who appreciates intellects of all different kinds. Like Waylon, he isn’t conventionally an intellectual but he’s incredibly smart in other ways and Eddie recognizes it and praises him for it.
So for someone like me, who is shit at things like riddles but has strong problem solving and pattern recognition skills, I feel like he’d appreciate that type of intelligence too.
Eddie himself canonically has said that only true ignorance is what he has a problem with. Those like me and Waylon who have intellectual disabilities (not sure if that’s canon for Waylon but I hc that for him at least), he has no qualms with. He appreciates those who have the desire to learn.
Ok I definitely yapped more than I meant to but I love their friendship ok???
