Still crossing my fingers for them to bring back the Cleveland Spiders.

I miss the Wichita Wingnuts, but that was partly because their away jerseys were white with huge red italic-y text on the front that just read NUTS.

Oh, I didn't know the A's had dot races! I follow a Texas Rangers beat writer on Twitter, and he always updates their dot race standings every night. Cleveland just does it so that everyone has the same number of wins at season's end (27), provided all 81 home games are played.

Omg the DOT RACE STANDINGS. Amazing.

The Yankees do a Subway race of the three trains that run to the stadium on the digital scoreboard!

Oh, how fun! The As could have done that, I would have stood and cheered for BART train races....

Tell us about your ring(s)!

Sure! There’s only two of the three visible. The one you can’t see is a pewter ring with Kokopelli on it, which is a bit appropriative, but it was a gift from my grandmother when I was about 15, and I’ve worn it since. The silver band you see there is a silver ring that was a gift from a friend (her mother died and she ineherited all of her jewelry and jewelry-making tools, and she sent me that one). I like how cool it looks between the other two rings. The most visible one, the gold ring, comes from my stepfather’s mother, Mama Tickey, Last of the Southern Belles, after she died. When her husband died she had their wedding rings melted down and reformed into a single ring she wore for the rest of her life, and when she died none of her blood kin wanted it, so I asked if I could have it and my stepfather got it for me.

Not as much, but I did have to get off one pink line train and on the next because one of the bridges was up and the pink line driver decided instead of waiting for the bridge, he was just going to do another ring around the loop. :D

IT DOES! And apparently might have been something of a bargain at $3. Googling, it looks like it’s a high-quality resin copy of an ivory netsuke from the 19th century, and ones like it sell for between $15 and $35 online.

That little jumpy black thing? Yeah, I think it’s a scratch on the cover of the lens -- it doesn’t actually move (that’s just the video function) and I can’t feel it when I scrape the outside of the lens cover, and dislodging it has not been successful. I’ve had this phone for something like two years and it was second-hand when I got it, so its time may soon be coming to an end. I’m no looking forward to it; I haven’t actually bought a phone since roughly 2012 and I understand they’re Not Cheap nowadays....

I do in fact hate cabbage and broccoli. :D And lettuce, and eggplant, and peas, green beans, zucchini, asparagus, cauliflower, bell peppers of all colors, artichokes, beets, and squash.

As I once said to my boss, an only slight exaggeration that is now a running joke: “I don’t really eat plants.”
