Revamping my old version of Deltafell because I feel like it.
Essentially what happens is that Kris ends up dying in an accident years before the events of Deltarune. Susie was the only one to witness it and blames herself but it's not actually her fault. The loss of Kris, and Dess just months before sends the town into ruin. Everyone is doing their best to keep themselves together but the feeling that something wrong may happen any day now looms over them.
Susie feels downright awful for what happened to Kris and started hanging out at Toriel's house to help her. So much so it became like a second home. She also learned to sew from Toriel and made the Kris doll. The bow was a gift from Toriel as well and even though Susie doesn't particularly like bows, she refuses to take it off. The bow turns into the Butterfly Axe in the dark world.
Within the main story, the player posses the Kris doll as the real Kris is long gone. Susie thinks the doll is actually Kris speaking to her and thus dose what the player says, attempting to atone for what she'd done in the past.
Noelle in this AU, is understandably upset as not only had she lost her sister, but her best friend as well in the same year. She suspects Susie had something to do with it but has very mixed emotions about the whole situation. She's sent to go get chalk with Susie but ends up just leaving school after nearly getting into a fight with Susie. Wich Susie refused to actually partake in.
Dark world stuff is generally the same I guess. Ralsei is a bit mean. Lancer and Spade King believe they're the good guys, chosen by the knight to protect the dark world, not realizing the harm in keeping multiple fountains option. They do realize this mistake by the end of the chapter.
The Kris doll is able to move around on its own in the dark world but can't stray far from Susie, as the little heart things on their outfits are what allow them to work together in battle.
I got really bored.
