Why are people hating on Chaol for being sad during of Tower of Dawn?
This kid whose entire life purpose was to fight on his legs, just got thrown into a wheelchair, perhaps for the rest of his life.
You can’t expect someone who has recently been disabled to just accept it quickly and get over it. Some need to be beaten down and allow themselves to cry in order to accept it in the end.
That shit takes time. So stop saying Chaol was a cry baby the entire time. You’re just trying to find reasons to hate him, and quite frankly, you’re being rude by indirectly insinuating that disabled people aren’t allowed to feel sad for themselves before realizing that nothing can make them anything less of a man/woman.
I see her slipping away, bit by bit, because you push her down when she so desperately needs someone to help her back up.

→Favourite Rowan moment
“Thirty minutes later, Rowan was still staring up at the ceiling, teeth gritted as he calmed the roaring in his veins that was steadily shredding through his self-control. That gods-damned nightgown. Shit. He was in such deep, unending shit.”

QoS is the best.
The best book ever.
Honestly, I've just finished reading it, and I'm so in love with it that I may well read the entire series hundreds of times before grasping just how good it is! If any of you reading this haven't read it yet FUCKING GO OUT THERE AND BUY THIS FUCKING BOOK! It will make you shit Aelin's fire and piss out Dorian's ice it is that good.
SPOILER TIME! (Discussion time)
Ok so first off
Chaol is such a dick at the start of this. I was so disappointed when I began reading it because I was gearing up for the whole fanfiction cat fight between Rowan and Chaol over Celaena because I've been a Chaolaena shipper for years and he just hurled abuse at her.
Well, I was not shipping Chaolaena after that.
I just felt like slapping him so hard that he shit out my finger bones. But, then again, it just reminded me how perfect Rowan is for Celaena and I was happy again.
I cannot even start to explain how much I love the plot. Manon is a total badass, Rowan is a total hunk, and Celaena/Aelin continues to remind us why we endure period pains every month. I love the fact that Manon chose Abraxos and that there's this whole rebellion going on. I love that every branch of the story ties in to Aelin, especially Elide's story. I love how Sarah continues to spin her web bigger and more complex in every book, making the history seem insanely like real life.
Can we also talk about the fact that there were SO MANY FUCKING PLOT TWISTS?! I mean, I can't have been the only one who thought the end would be a valiant battle between the raised armies of Terrasen against Adarlan. THAT FUCKING KING PUTTING A COLLAR ON DORIAN AND THEN DYING AND REVEALING PERRINGTON! That is real LOTR shit there.
There's also the whole "my childhood is a lie" and "everyone lied to me" thing which fucked with my head. But I love this book SO MUCH.
Let me know what you guys think about it.
jinxedcrab replied to your post“Oh and having just finished reading Heir of Fire again, I have jumped...”
I... actually had the same reaction on my re-read of HoF. Mainly because I agree with Dorian's assessment of Chaol. He can't only like parts of her and hope for the best.
That’s what I thought as well! Plus if and when she goes back to Terrasen I don’t think Chaol would leave his homeland or Dorian to be King. At least with Rowan he’s sworn to her so has to be by her side anyways...
it’s really awkward cuz rowan whitethorn is like my fav male character ever in the universe at the moment, so i keep like searching through his tag and writing posts about him and replaying rowaena scenes in my head and stuff , but rowan is also the name of my exboyfriend, and every now and then when I’m thinking, like, “rowan is the greatest” or whatever, i just randomly remember that that was the name of my 8th grade boyfriend and then i feel unnecessarily awkward.
