Hello everyone! Sorry again about my extended absence and such. Life got in the way, various other projects and obligations I've been trying to get done. As well as other things in the world that kept me from getting back to things here.

As a small apology, and a little bonus to what I'll be posting here soon, I'd like to give you a little special something!

For Han and Roy, the Beans', normal playlist I like to focus on songs with a country vibe to fit their connection to Hannibal. As much as I don't mind that Lucky Luke 2026 was loosely adapting some of the comics, Marshal City episode being based on The Judge seemed like a wasted potential to me.

Like, The Judge is one of those Lucky Luke adventures that centers around a historical figure, and Roy Bean was an interesting fella - he's remembered as "The Hanging Judge", but in reality he sentenced most people to fines and had really colorful past (including being setenced to hanging and surviving it). The comicbook about him retains some of those facts but also paints his trials as a spectacle for the masses.

Marshal City - as a story - adapts all of it out and focuses on "too much law on the west side of Pecos" angle that happens in the second act of The Judge, when Bad Ticket comes to town. Suddenly there are two judges punishing people for contradicting things. In of itself Marshal City is a decent episode. Some of 2026 show episodes are about certain formulas that pop up in various Lucky Luke adventures (the second one is about a bandit terrorizing the whole city, the third one is about how adventures with Daltons generally turn up) and Marshal City is about a weird, not bandit-related situation Lucky Luke stumbles upon on his journeys in some towns...

But The Judge belongs to a different formula of Lucky Luke adventure - a historical figure formula.

I don't know if I make any sense. I don't hate this episode, I just think that it missed the mark.
