oehhh hell yeah, this is so fun! I have picked a section of part 3 of the I do verse for you (a pretty long section, basically a whole scene, because I can't help myself, but still), I hope you enjoy it <3

It’s not until the two of them are in bed together that he can bring it up. Eddie is cuddled up on top of him and Buck is carding his hand through his hair mindlessly. Usually he’d be scrolling on his phone and chatting about this or that, but now he says: “Eddie?”
“Hm, yeah, sweetheart?” Eddie replies, catching onto the fact that Buck has been thinking about something.
“Someone needs to talk to Chimney about what he’s still doing here, right?” Buck says, pretty confident in his assessment and that Eddie agrees, but wanting confirmation regardless.
“Yeah,” Eddie sighs. “Someone does.”
Buck is quiet for a beat, then asks: “Do you think… Do you think you can do it?”
At that, Eddie turns so he can look at Buck instead of resting his head on Buck’s chest. He seems surprised and frowns: “Why me?”
“Well…” Buck hesitates, before saying, “he’s clearly stressing about becoming a dad and thinks this is a good response, I figured you’d, you know…”
“Have experience in running away from becoming a dad?” Eddie fills in mildly.
“Uh, yeah,” Buck grimaces awkwardly, because that is kind of what he was thinking, which probably isn’t a great thing to mention like that, even if they both know it’s true.
Eddie is working on it with Frank and has gotten a lot better. Buck knows he feels a lot more comfortable talking about it, otherwise he wouldn’t have brought it up. They’re both maturing in their communication like that.
And that is fortunate for this conversation, since his estimate that Eddie would be okay with him mentioning it is proven correct, because Eddie makes a ‘that’s fair’-face and says: “I mean, I guess I could. But I think you’d be the better person for Chim to hear from if you want him to realize he needs to get his ass home to Maddie.”
“Me?”
“Yeah, Buck, you,” Eddie says, his tone saying ‘of course I mean you, you lovable idiot,’ with all the affection that comes with that.
“Why me?” Buck asks, still unsure of why Eddie would say that. He hasn’t been a perfect parent – no one is, though he is learning to feel less guilty with Dr. Copeland about his imperfections – but this isn’t a fault he thinks he has made himself guilty of.
“Because Chimney knows how he’s feeling right now, everyone has told Chim how he is feeling and has tried to reason him out of it. What he needs it hear is how Maddie is feeling and you are the only person who comes even close to knowing that,” Eddie says.
