Okay so hear me out here, you know how Snotlout said his mother taught him how to sew? And how the riders got updated clothes before Rtte for the event?

Welll what if Snotlout actually made the outfits but said his mother did because he was afraid to admit it.

Random Httyd/rtte headcanon of the day:

Shattermaster didn’t die on the attack on the edge but he was injured and can no longer fly. Dagur let’s him stay at the amoury to help out with metal work and assist in basic dragon training, the Beserkers don’t typically train dragons so its more there to desensitise their warriors.

Dagur visits often and the two often try to find ways to recreate their old moves from the ground.

Random Httyd/rtte headcanon of the day:

Ryker had a son, but he died, and it was part of what disqualified him from being considered "chief material" in their tribe's eyes

Warning for non-descriptive child death.

Essentially, Ryker was not really interested in any of the women from his tribe so his grandfather sent him away on a vouage of sorts to "secure more land" (really, it was because he already favoured Viggo, but Viggo was a few years younger, and he wanted Ryker out of the way while he came of age so Viggo had a better chance of securing more poltical power) However ryker did actually end up meeting a woman he liked. The two of them returned to the hunters to get married. His wife soon giving birth to his son

Ryker was really insistent on her and their son joining him on hunts, to instil the dragon hunting mentality early. Due to that insistence, they were often put in dangerous situations, and one time, rather publicly, Ryker's son was killed by a Monstrous Nightmare, with Viggo also getting injured in that attack and earning a neck scar in the process. Ryker was shoned as a reckless fool, whereas Viggo was praised and hailed as a hero willing to put his life on the line to save his nephew, though unsuccessful.

After that, Ryker's marriage soon dissolved in her eventually leaving, but even to his last days, Ryker can't help but ponder how "perfect" that whole incident was for his brother. His brother, a man who avoided most hunts, just happened to be there in the line of fire, his son happened to be killed outright, yet Viggo, surely the more immediate threat, escaped with only a scar, his grandfather was ready to make Ryker the public fool to his tribe.

Something about the whole situation has always given Ryker some pause, perhaps that was why, when his grandfather called out to him for assistance all those years later, frail and staring down the eye of a nadder with exposed spikes, Ryker did not aim for the belly...

Random Httyd/rtte headcanon of the day:

In early season 3, Tuffnut wanted to learn how to play maces and talons…. things got outa hand and ended up going to a tournament that Viggo was hosting and Viggo played with him out of morbid curiosity, tuff was loosing but ran away before a true winner could be found. Neither one of them ever spoke of it again

This is a crack headcaanon a 1000% BUT I will say its suspicious Viggo says “Fishlegs I thought you’d be above name calling.” To a rider he’s never met before kinda like someone with a big mouth and a tendency to over sell personalities may have given some rider info away in exchange for a game with Viggo grimborn. I can see tuff at the very least telling about personalities rather than important info for it.

Viggo has insomnia and keeps a potted lavender beside his bed, and has one on his ship for when he travels. He likes to stare at it sometimes when he can't sleep or needs to calm down, Viggo thinks its a little silly he needs it but there's something about watching the slightly limp with its soft green and purple hues that...centres him.

Random Rtte Headcannons part 5: Tuffnut

Spoilers for all of Rtte ahead, you have been warned and any coments complaining will be ignored and removed

Tuffnut Headcannons:

Tuffnut is fairly smart but has never really been good with economics, especially understanding pricing. So Ruffnut has to do the shopping, or else Tuffnut ends up saying yes to any price a trader says with zero questioning on why a quil is worth his life savings.

Tuffnut spends a lot of time reading, but tends to hide it from the other riders, with he and Ruffnut only reading after dark or when they're on watch

The teeth on Tuffnut's necklace are shark teeth. Gruffnut brought them back for him on one of his "adventures", and Tuffnut actually has a couple of scars/scratches from where they've scratched against his neck. He managed to scare Snotlout once by convincing him the night terrors had "gone savage" and attacked him once.

Tuffnut can actually cook, but no one trusts him to

Berk had to invent a prison system specifically for him; however, Tuffnut just kept breaking out to the point they just kinda gave up

Tuffnut learned a lot of his tricks from his mother and tends to be closer to her than his father whom he doesn't really get along with too well, as he more so married into the Thorsons and doesn't share their love for pranks or Loki

Tuffnut is actually second best at taming dragons in the group, as he tends to be a bit more fearless than Snotlout and fishlegs and more able to connect with dragons than Ruffnut and Astrid

I think if Tuffnut got his own dragon it’d be a timberjack because of his love for sharp class dragons

Tuffnut likes drawing mutated images of dragons (think how medieval painters couldn’t draw big cats cause they only had descriptions of them but intentional) with vivid colours he got through crushed clays and flowers

Tuffnut likes the idea of living in a skrill storm, hiccup said no 😭

The twins were born on the summer solstice, Tuffnut believes Loki just wanted to give them more spotlight for their plans

Tuffnut is pretty good with slight of hand and Hiccup actually agreed to let him go around the northern markets once to steal what he could from the dragon hunters, he ended up getting too bold though and the two barely made it out of there by the skin of their teeth

Tuffnut doesn’t know how to sail, he thinks he could if needed…he is wrong

Tuffnut speaks 4 languages, berkian/english, Italian (ruff actually speaks a little in one episode lol), boreish, and his and of course twintuition
