Historical Herbal: Raspberry Leaf
Cultures around the world relied on the leaves of raspberries (Rubus idaeus) to prepare for childbirth as a tonic, and also used other parts of the plant for conditions including but not limited to: digestive and intestinal dysfunction, canker sores, cataracts, reproductive issues, and dysentery. It did not become recognized by Western medicine until the 1940s after various studies found that it drastically improved the pelvic and uterine health.
