Wow, you all are incredible! I can’t believe how many people pre-ordered a baby jackalope the last two days. Pink/red eyes VS ruby eyes VS black eyes

The first row shows rats with pink/red eyes. They’re usually pretty easy to identify because they’re bright red.

The second row displays rats with ruby eyes. Ruby is a very dark red that may look black at first or in certain lighting. Lighter ruby may look red/pink and arguably even be red/pink, while darker ruby becomes difficult to even distinguish from black eyes.

Black eyes, as seen in the third row, are also generally easy to identify, but it’s also easy to mistake ruby eyes for black ones.

I didn’t have room for many examples, but there’s a fourth kind of rat eye shown at the bottom: odd! “Odd-eyed” is just a word for rats whose eyes are not the same color.
