So I’m really tired right now
I’m officially a half marathoner, y’all 🏃🏻♀️👑✨
I got home from my Saturday morning run in the rain just as the boys were going out car shopping so I ran straight into the garage and waved them good bye. I ran a very gentle six km around the neighbourhood. My legs were a bit tight and it was my second run in my new orthotics so I just wanted to take it easy and take note of how things were feeling. I have changed my running style considerably with the help of my podiatrist and physio and I have come a long way from the wobbly runner I used to be. My podiatrist was pretty pleased too when I saw him last week he said I am now a tight compact efficient wee runner. That put a smile on my face for sure. It does mean however that new bits get sore and tight so my foam roller is still working overtime.
Tough (I would think) for Cait to run by herself in her first race since sis will be at a quicker pace. Also, do you know if all 7 Balfe siblings are girls? I thought I read that. Thanks.
Hey Anon!
It really depends on the runner, actually. Some do better with a partner to motivate them. Others (myself included) would rather run alone with my music. And Caitriona was listing songs on her running playlist, so I think she’s at least preparing to run alone because she knows Anne-Marie is a speedster!
Besides, she won’t be alone really. Thousands will be running alongside with her! xD
And I don’t think so? I think it’s split 4 girls, 3 boys. I remember that being said in some interview(s), but I can’t remember which exactly. I think it’d be more of a “thing” if the Balfes were all girls though, so I feel we’d hear more about it lol.
@all my runner gals who are under 5'6" can I get you to post some bomb pics of yourself absolutely killing it at running bc my mind is really struggling at the moment to see myself as a "real" runner and I could use some help!!
Guuuys I’m so happy!! I managed to run 18 km (11 miles) yesterday, which is the farthest I’ve ever run! It was actually quite easy, because I ran through the woods and that is kind of a meditating act to me. 😊 Now I’m going to the gym and hit back, arms and abs. 💪
My longest run to date! And I still had enough energy for a trial and error jump photo shoot afterwards 😂
This time next week I’ll have completed my first half marathon!!
This is the longest run I’ve ever done. I really wanted to get 10 miles in today but I waited too long to get outside and by the time I got this far it was dark and the track has no lights 🤷🏻♀️
I feel like it’s important to note that my legs and/or feet didn’t feel like death at 8.55 miles. I could have easily done 10 no problem and if I can do 10 I can do 13.1, right? 🏃🏻♀️👑✨
