June 2, 2023 :: I managed to go for a long run (8 mi) this morning. I did some Yin yoga last night (which I love! and need to make a habit), and I believe this practice helped smooth the joints and muscles. The run felt good for the most part. I walked a few times and took sips from the 500 ml sugar free iced tea I had taken with me. The sun was out and once again I am hopeful to have tan lines from running by the end of summer. Wish me luck! 🤞
T-3 weeks until the RUN BRE 10 km.
20 miles today
My last long run before my FIRST marathon in 15 days. I’m starting to think I might actually finish this race ✌🏼
Pretty epic weekend coming to an end! Took the train out to Edale yesterday and ran/walked my way home via Kinder scout, Ladybower, Bamford, Stanage and Rivelin with a cold but beautiful bivvy inbetween. I've been feeling a bit eh about running lately so I expected this to be mostly or entirely a walk but ended up running lots yesterday and some today and enjoying it thoroughly. Autumn is still my favourite season for running ❤
50 km - 1308m ascent - 1370m descent
(I normally don't post numbers much but I'm pretty dang proud of these)
I finally found a good vegan banana bread recipe, that’s what I call a good Sunday.
I finished my race and got a better time than I was expecting, 7 hours and 41 minutes! For my first 50k that felt pretty amazing. The training paid off big time, and even though I am beyond sore I couldn't be happier!
Some vegan lunches I’ve had recently 🌱🌿🍃.
Living 2 minutes away from the only completely vegan restaurant within 30 miles is such a blessing! I don’t have a picture of their food above, but if you’re in Ohio make sure to eat at Miss Julie’s Kitchen! Delicious and everything is vegan. Other than that, those were a few of my meals within the last couple weeks. Ohio is actually a very well equipped place to be living as a vegan. There’s a lot of us and the produce is abundant and plentiful!
If you like following fellow vegans, my instagram is @ tabhoyt 🌱. Let’s encourage a better future!
