Gl future me writing the actual plot <3
You're right,, goodluck for real because, there's so much to talk about. And I'll even be brief on parts like Calipso's and Ymir's backstory since it's gonna be on their respective posts. (Also the last part Is arguably the most important so just saying sgdgjdjs)
Anyways,
They've always been togheter.
Since they were small, they'd look out for the other, hoping that they don't get in much trouble and stuff. Both of them were loose kids, so most they could do was sticking up togheter. However, they'd always dreamed of going further from their kingdom. The conditions weren't Ideal, and mabye they could've grown togheter and made an house in the woods, living till they were old.
Which of course doesn't sound queer at all tf you're talking about I SEE YOU/j /s.
Anywho, not only their bond was strong but, they had a very good physical preparation, and especially Ymir. They'd frequently train, in case they'd see or pretend they were going to go on a mission the very next day.
Calipso knew that reeders would've been there, so they had to be careful, even for the little knowledge they had. They were known as the evil of all anyways, It wasn't much of a surprise if they were hostile. Calipso was the one who was more intrigued into knowing what they were, rather than fighting them like that.
And so, they did just that.
For the longest time even. Out of pure luck and, through quite the intricate plan to get into proves, they officially got into one of the squads for missions outside. At first, they were both enthusiastic about It, but that's when things do get a deeper and harsher tone.
Both Calipso and Ymir end up visiting different parts of the kingdom, before their first assigment. At first, they didn't think much of It, thinking positively for the most part.
Calipso takes the way to see how much the conditions of the middle and lower class people have worsened by a lot, and wanting to do something about It.
Most he gets told back Is that the only way to do It, Is through succesfully being back, with more information to take down other Reeders and bring back peace for humans.
And to a degree, they agree. But thruth was, he didn't know pratically much about them, not knew how to defeat them completely. He didn't even know what they'd look like!
Ymir instead gets taken into the more religious parte of the kingdom, being told far more about Reeders, since they're thecnically the stronger out of the two and needed that knowledge.
They learn about there being devil and sinner Reeders, and being confused as to why there would be sinners in the first place.
She gets told that they become that through dirty, unwanted wishes, and those who were already corrupted will inevitably become part of them. With that discovery, she gets easly disturbed, and being scared of how much 'corruption' they and Calipso have. And how much they'd be in trouble. After that, they meet up again.
It was mainly akward, since both didn't look great and rather didn't speak of their experiences. In their tent, the most lighearted moment was a brief talk of what they could've done outside, and mabye proceeding with the plan they'd create several years ago.
There's other few soldiers that do accompain them, but for semplicity's sake I won't talk in detail for now. All you got to know Is that they also will return later on, and ,before the shitshow you'll see in a bit, they bond with both of them. Their importance wilk grow mainly later on, so don't worry they won't be superficial.
But oh boy, now onto the mission.
They finnaly get outside and, with many precautions, adventure for quite a bit. After some time, they get attacked. Not by Reeders, but since there also are other creatures, they'd pretend It was them. Both Ymir and Calipso struggle, bringing them to divide themselves with the others and almost failing.
Ymir gets severely wounded in this process, and as such, Calipso immidiately rushes to her. By then, most danger passed but, she was still in risk of death. Not having the right equipment or anything to helo them with, he gets into an enormous panick.
The only one who's ever wanted to look at them, to talk and stand side by side was most definetly going to die. He couldn't do anything but try communicating with her, as Ymir slowly closed their vision.
At that point, he was speechless, and on the verge of breaking down.
That was, until they'd hear something from behind.
They now were a Reeder, too. His hair would've grown exponentially, and they could feel their flower part of him.
Calipso turned around, and was surprised to find an actual Reeder, just from afar. Now knowing they were an actual Reeder, they asked for help. Keeping It short, it gives him a deal, and even if he's unsure on what would happen to them, all he'd want was for her safety.
So, he accepted.
Calipso only minutes later realized how much they'd change in little time.
Their size changed too, being taller than sn house, but not as big as a tree. (Around 8 meters) Though, It wasn't his priority. What he spent his time next, was to wait for Ymir's awakening. He wasn't sure of how to face what happened but, they could just hope. After several minutes, she finnaly wakes up. They were careful not to scare her off too much but, terribly failed.
Ymir knew that they were in front of a Reeder, not having recognize It being Calipso. And thus, were ready to fight a bitch. But, when she finnaly realizes It is him, they initially feel betrayed. They accuse them of not showing how much corruption they had from her, and Calipso was understandably confused.
For a good period of time, Ymir wouldn't even look at them.
They desperatly tried to explain that he made a deal to save their life, hoping not to be left out again, and for how much she wanted to belive them, they couldn't. Things get rushed out, and Ymir has to go back quickly, and somehow hide Calipso in the process.
Despite everything, they'd still love him.
They secretly make a pact to meet during the night, and using that as a way to communicate. Although, Ymir can't still fully undestand the context, wondering how much the Kingdom had lied to them, and the reason as to why.
From then, the active story progresses, in which Ymir tries to find a cure for Calipso, and eventually finding out they'll have to find a Pearl. Problem Is, they didn't know where. And from that reaserches begin, they try to bond again and for both of them to adjust to Calipso's new identity.
