Ahem, anyway, I love the concept too. I love the idea of Rusty dressing like a trucker, with his glamorous partner dressing in the exact opposite. Bright, shiny, dark, cold, elegant, cool- either way, you don't look like the kinda person to be dating Rusty. Yet fate brings you here to him.

Rusty enjoys that you're having fun & that you show things that you're passionate about, even though there's definitely a chance that he already knew before you told him or before you both met at all. It gets lonely on the road & he wishes he could take you with him, but his job isn't for a pretty little thing like you. So, the photos & videos of you dressing up & showing your outfits make the ride to nowhere a little better.

At the risk of making Rusty more paranoid than he possibly already is becoming, imagine the universe throwing yet another disturbance upon his life, like, he's on his way home from a haul. And he gets a phone call while at a gas station. It's his s/o, they sound tired. "Hey honey, I hope I didn't wake you up. First off, I'm fine, the dog's fine, but somebody smashed the window trying to get in the house, I already have the cops here-" How fast is Rusty going home now?

That man is going to break some LAWS. I imagine this happens in the second movie, when those teens break into his house after their car breaks down & they decide to steal his car to get to Vegas.

You didn't want to wake him because it was early in the morning & you knew Rusty wasn't much of a morning person either. All you knew was that Rusty was sleeping in a motel, but he ended up going to the Gas Station instead because he wanted to get home early to surprise you.

But he suddenly gets a phone call from you & you normally don't call him. You only call him when something is wrong & this was exactly that. It looks like someone broke into your guy's shared home while you were away, but you didn't want to step inside because they might still be there. They could have a gun, for all you know, & of course, you didn't want to risk it.

"What happened?" Rusty got straight to the point as soon as you dialed him.

"I went to the farmer's market for a quick trip & I took Champ with me, but when I came home, the door was busted open."

"What?"

"I dunno what happened, but I called the police to see if they can check out what happened inside. I know you wouldn't want me to go inside by myself & you would want to be there with me, but I know you're away for work, so I didn't want to bother you."

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. The police are there? He just got them off his ass a couple of months ago & they're at his house, & searching it? Rusty is beyond pissed, but he didn't want to yell at you. You don't know what he does for a living besides trucking. You don't know the truth & he doesn't want you to. He loves you too much to tell you.

"Stay. Where you are. Don't. Move." You could hear the boiling wrath in Rusty's voice & from the other side of the flip phone, his grip threatened to crush it. His voice wasn't a yell nor a rushed whisper. It was a long, dragging purr, with every word carrying anger. Rusty didn't say anything more & immediately hung up before you could get another word in.

Rusty has a plan as soon as he hops into that truck, but that's something you're not supposed to know.

I imagine that Rusty is torturing one of his victims. This random teen who decided it was a good idea to steal his cigarettes that he had just bought from the gas station about 5 minutes ago & now Rusty has their head on a car jack, threatening to crush their head like a watermelon. Then bloop! He gets a message from his phone.

"The hell?" Rusty wasn't going to check his messages. He was in the middle of doing something right now. Rusty continued as normal, his feet slowly pressing the pedal. A small yelp came from the teen as they panicked. But Rusty eventually paused again as he got another bloop from his phone. "Who in the hell is textin' me right now-" It's you with his dog & it has a cute little caption saying, "Miss you! Come home safe, okay? xx"

Rusty sighs in contentment as he looks at the cute photos. You guys look so warm & happy compared to the situation he is in right now. He wishes he were there, but he has other important matters to attend to.

"I think I've given ya enough time to think 'bout whatcha done," Rusty says flatly to his hostage. "Let's get this over with."

Rusty takes showers, but not often. He doesn't hate taking showers or anything; he doesn't give himself time to do it. Whenever he's not actively working or torturing his victims, he's sleeping because that man has been up for god knows how long. So, as soon as he hits the bed, he's knocked the fuck out. The only time he'll actually shower is when he's on vacation from his job because he's not tired all the time. Rusty feels so much better after he showers & he at least showers twice when he's tending to his little farm.

Rusty's diet when on the road is fucking shittttttt. That man eats snacks & drinks a black Americano. He eats beef jerky, gummy bears, Kit Kats, & like a small bag of peanut m&ms. If he's hungry enough, he'll have those gas station hot dogs.

Following up on that, Rusty occasionally goes to diners when he can. Rusty loves himself a good double cheeseburger with some fries. He'll stuff the burger with the fries & get that full, yummy effect. I would say he would drink root beer, but I feel like he's more of a Dr. Pepper kinda guy.

Rusty forgets to wipe his boots off the carpet when it rains. He will bring mud onto your perfectly clean floor. Always remind him before he steps inside, because that man will dirty the fuck outta your floor.

Rusty smells like a campfire with a hint of whiskey.

Rusty is really comfortable to sleep with, especially in the winter. He has a big frame & he runs very warm; it's like he's a space heater. He always keeps you close. Rusty also doesn't really use blankets. It makes him too hot, but he'll wrap you in blankets & then pull you close.

Rusty enjoys himself some Fleetwood Mac & Johnny Cash.

We all know Rusty loves the rain, but I want to flesh it out a little more. Rusty genuinely loves the sound of rain; it calms him. Some days, he sits on his porch & watch the rain fall from the sky as he smokes. He would be pleased if you got Rusty those white noise speakers with rain sounds on them. He'll play that shit allllllll night.
