I think I just registered myself a potential member of RWA and not for tickets for the conference itself.

So, I have decided that I am going to the RWA 2018 conference.

I have also decided that it would be ridiculous to go there without a manuscript.

The plan: I have about 50 pages of a shifter romance that I’ve been playing with for the past year or so. This is the beginning of my manuscript.

My goal: Write one page (250 words) a day between now and July 18.

That should set me at about 200 pages of unedited words (maybe more if the creative juices start flowing). It will mean that I have a project to focus on while I’m there and attending workshops and something to talk about with other attendees if the need arises and my introverted little heart starts panicking.

Breaking my Tumblr hiatus because I just learned that the RWA Annual Conference is going to be in Denver (where I live!!!!!!!) this year and I can’t decide if I want to go or not.

Obviously, it would be AMAZING to go be around all my fellow Romancelandians because you people are all awesomesauce and I’d love to be able to meet RL humans who love romances as much as I do AND learn about writing romances (something I’ve been playing with for a couple of years now, but never taken seriously) AND meet some of my favorite authors who I admire so so much.

But also there are SO MANY Romancelandians and being around that many people is my own personal version of hell. So I am torn. Should I do it? Is it worth taking off three days of work and paying $500+? Has anyone been to a RWA conference so I can pick your brain about worthwhileness?
