The me of two weeks ago who decided the best way to get out of a reading slump was to create a NetGalley account and immediately request a dozen books was a very silly person. Definitely out of the reading slump, but I'm not catching up on my tbr list or the fanfics I'm behind in.
Plus, now I'm behind and can't immediately jump into the ARC with a pretty cover that I know is going to emotionally devastated me.

I had the opportunity to meet Ryan in Raleigh, NC along with Christopher Ruocchio. Both authors are fantastic people who genuinely love the art of writing meaningful stories.
Of Blood and Fire one of the best examples of a modern author writing traditional fantasy well. If you are a fan of The Wheel of Time, A Game of Thrones, or Eragon, this series could be perfect for you.

I can highly recommend Ryan Cahill's The Bound and the Broken series. I have read three of the books in that series, and they are fantastic.
I was able meet and listen to authors Ryan Cahill and Christopher Ruocchio at a Barnes & Noble book signing event. Ryan is author of The Bound and the Broken fantasy series. Christopher is author of the Sun Eater series. I have read and loved books from both authors, so this was such an amazing experience.

The longest book in the series, it was also the one I devoured the fastest. Many readers might find it lengthy and tedious to read about the small interactions and not jump straight to the next battle. But it's these quiet moments that I find most engaging in this book.
