It's Ryuji Week!!!

A couple days ago, Twitter started talking about having a #RyujiWeek.  Sounds like it’s going to be the week of his birthday. I thought we were going to wait until Monday, but sounds like it’s going to start Thursday 6/25, and presumably through Ryuji’s birthday on 7/3/2020.   I don’t know if there are any prompts but I’l try to start posting daily Ryuji content, starting Thursday. 💛  (It will likely also be AkiRyu.)

Ryuji eyes the box with equal amounts of excitement and skepticism. "I thought we said no presents."

"We know," Ann rolls her eyes, shifting on the makeshift bed. How Akira manages to sleep here every night for nearly six months is beyond her. "It's a gift from all of us."

He gives the small box a shake, eliciting a rattle, the cheap pirate wrapping paper is already starting to crease. "Why? Is it filled with crickets? Ants? Those snakes-in-a-can type of thing?"

"Because we love you and appreciate you, Ryuji," Morgana chirps from Akira's lap.

"Now I'm pretty damn sure there's gonna be crickets in here," he raises an eyebrow at Akira. "Are there crickets in here?"

Akira's eyes crinkle in a way that's supposed to be a smile without the actual mouth movement. "No crickets."

Ryuji sighs dramatically. "Guess my only choice is to open it," giving it one last rattle, he tears into the wrapping paper.

"About time," Ann mumbles.

They all watch as Ryuji gasps and nearly drops the contents, eyes so wide there's a real threat that they may simply roll out of the sockets. "You're effin' lying, man!"

He looks up everyone else, disbelieving. "Are you lying?"

Eyes landing on Akira, he almost misses the small smile that crept on his face. "No lying, either."

"An honest to god Apple Watch?" He almost starts jumping in his sheer joy before he remembers that Sojiro can and will hit him with a stick for disrupting the few customers he has downstairs. He settles on manic grinning instead, lightly tapping his feet on the hardwood. "How! Why! What!"

Ann laughs, "Akira mentioned that you left your pedometer in the wash when you're doing your mom's laundry and, you know, Palace stuff comes with loads of money so, hey! Why not do something nice for the guy who'd drop everything to help his mom out?"

She reaches over and ruffles his hair, but he's too busy opening the box to notice. After hastily throwing the instructions somewhere behind him, Ryuji's got the watch ready on his wrist, babbling as he checks out the apps.

"Hot damn, there's everything on this thing! It's probably better than my phone at this point!"

He gets up, eyes filled with stars and dimples right on top of his cheekbones. Going up to Ann, Ryuji grabs her face and places a fat kiss on her forehead, "I love--" he moves on to a flabbergasted Morgana and smooches the spot right between his ears, "you guys--" finally, he looks up at Akira, and kisses him full on the lips, "so much!"

"Blegh!" Morgana shudders, hopping off of Akira. "I'm taking a bath, that was nasty."

"It was cute, kind of," Ann says, rubbing her forehead.

"Well," Akira says, leaning forward Ryuji's direction. "I wouldn't mind buying another watch just to have a repeat."

Ryuji laughs, and indulges in Akira's silent request. "You don't need to drop a ton of cash to have a repeat of that."

As they lean in to each other's space, Ann nearly trips down the stairs in her haste to give them some room.
