This is the dude who said “I don’t think he did” in s2, “you don’t know and you don’t even care and obviously he doesn’t either and I don’t blame him” and “yeah I guess I did” and “that’s what you’re concerned about right now?” and “she said she dumped your ass, that doesn’t sound like a break” in s3, “you made it super clear you’re not interested in anything I have to say” and “we used to be best friends” in s4 … all straight to Mike’s face without ever missing a beat.

Anyone accusing Will Byers of being under any illusions about Mike Wheeler’s flaws is the one who’s actually deluded.
