Detective Glen Chao: It's BD Wong!!! Shang Li! I'm still salty that they ended making him [episode spoilers] a dirty cop (and by proxy endorsing Mulder & Scully's initial distrust of him) because his point about the divide between ABCs (American born Chinese) and FOBs (Fresh off the boat) really hit hard as someone who is also of Chinese descent and from SF. Deserved better. At least better than getting killed off at the end of the episode.

To jog your memory, here are the episodes they're from:

Hell Money: A string of mysterious deaths of recent Chinese immigrants brings Agents Mulder and Scully to San Francisco's Chinatown. The Goldberg Variation: After being thrown off a building and surviving, Henry Weems, who appears to be the luckiest man in the world, attracts the attention of Mulder and Scully. But, if he is so lucky, why is he on the run from the mob, and why is everyone around him so unlucky?

It's slightly challenging to write one's thoughts about an episode that one kept falling asleep in. I drifted in and out, in and out.

The thing that finally clicked for me is Ronon. You know the first time through you're just along for the ride. The second time through, I was a bit befuddled by Ronon. He's aggressively angry. Okay, that's nothing really new, but he's aggressively angry at Sheppard. That's unusual. He's usually backing Sheppard all the way. Teyla and Rodney tend to serve more as the balance to Sheppard's own aggression. But in this episode, Ronon gets loud...for Ronon.

So, my click was that Ronon is deeply hurt by the massacre of the Taranin people. They risked everything to save these people and Michael just pops up and kills them. It would be bad enough to find the people you almost died saving murdered, but think about how angry you'd be if they were murdered by your failed science experiment. And think about if you had spoken out against it.

You don't really tell your friends, I told you so, because they're your friends and you have their back, but you are angry that the experiment went so wrong as to kill a whole group of people off.

Michael is such a fascinating character because he's a mirror reflecting back their mistake, their desperate choice, their wrong choice. I think they know they had to try to solve the Wraith problem, but they made a bad choice and now that choice is killing the very people they were trying to protect. Actions, regardless of intentions, have consequences and they're paying the price, which is always hard.

So, yeah, I get Ronon's anger and aggression in this episode now.

Also, I love Sheppard's exchange with Michael. I love that Sheppard's hand is so steady when he tells Michael that he has no problem killing him and that you can see Michael knows that's not an empty threat.

I love that they wrote a story where everything kinda went wrong with Michael. It's real. Things don't always work out. People speak past each other. People don't listen. People make assumptions. People forget to think about others. It's real.

Not only do I 100% believe that Trapper would have done it had Radar asked, I need to know what story he would've told

Who is Savitar?

Ok. So I don't have any proof yet (photos, mainly) but I do NOT think that Barry is savitar. I do, however, believe it could be Ronnie. And here's why:

First of all, why would Barry wanna kill Iris? He's in love with her. The love of his life, as Emo!barry puts it, and the light in his life. What sick person would destroy their reason to live? The person they trust most with their insecurities (singing, his nightmares, etc)? 

Secondly, if Caitlyn was angry with Barry for making her like she is, why would she join forces with him in a split second as Savitar? Doesn't make sense. It would have to be someone she trusted with every fiber of her being, and we've seen time and time again that that person is Ronnie. 

Next, Ronnie has reason to kill Iris. But it isn't to hurt Iris personally, it's to hurt Barry. To get revenge on Barry for causing him to “die” at the end of season 1. To get back at him for separating him from his wife. It's eye for an eye, really. Ronnie loses his wife for so long, so he kills Barry’s fiancé (wife? Soon, maybe? HINT HINT CW). 

Finally, as revealed in the latest episode, Savitar’s build is much to stocky and broad-shouldered to be Barry. Ronnie, however, was shorter and broader than Barry. 

So, in conclusion, Barry Allen is NOT Savitar, and Ronnie is, because Barry has no motive to be savitar, Caitlyn (as CF) wouldn't trust Barry that much that quickly, Ronnie does have proper motive, and the build of Savitar is more similar to that of Ronnie’s than of Barry’s.
