these are mostly s5 re-writes but if you'd like to send another ask I can find some that are specifically epilogue fix-its!

If Mike had to choose which is worse, he wouldn’t...he'd argue it’s an even split. - Or a rewrite of season five with a whole lot of Byler fluff, told Mike's jealous, lovestruck POV. This is all canon to me personally.

A few days after Will Byers unlocked his powers, he and Mike Wheeler get sent out on a mission to a place that’s suspiciously guarded in Vecna’s mind, which is Hawkin’s Church. Mike has a general dislike for churches that he put aside in favor of accompanying Will. When Will’s connection to Vecna spirals out of control, Mike is caught in the fallout, not only forced to confront the truth he’s been carrying with him for years but also try to get Will and himself out of there alive. The biggest issue is, Will is possessed and Mike isn’t leaving the church without him. What begins as a desperate attempt to wake Will up, ends in Mike realizing he would rather face hell than lose Will again.

Chapter 12 Holding out for a Hero

Snippet: Warm sunrays filtered in through the small window of his bedroom when Steve woke up, his cheek still pressed into the mattress. It was the first time in months that he'd slept this well, that he didn't wake up still tired and weary from his nightmares. A soft snore drew his attention to the kid next to him, hogging all the pillows, with one hand bunched in Steve's dusty shirt, as if he'd decide in the middle of the night to drive another Beamer through a gate. Steve sighed and rested his hand on his forehead, gently pushing Dustin away from him.

When he arrived at his home the night before, tailed by Dart, Dustin had already been there waiting with bloodshot eyes. After everything, his little brother, his best friend, had nearly lost him, too. Dustin had been too exhausted to yell at him, clinging to his shirt as sobs wracked through his body. Nothing was worth frightening Dustin like that. Not even the feeling buzzing underneath his skin when he thought about Eddie and Billy.

God, Eddie and Billy.

The image of them kissing had seared itself into his mind.

Fic Summary: Where did the days go when the kids didn't look beat down? When they weren't worrying and arguing? Steve wasn't so sure, but he knew that the deaths of Billy and Eddie had brought this decay with them. A slow, creeping sort of rot to their friendships, and Steve hated every second of it. He hated the wall around Hawkins, not being able to leave, and most of all, he hated the feeling of being watched.

Whatever had come for them before. It was still out there, growing stronger. Growing stronger with Billy and Eddie at its side. But Steve was not ready to forfeit yet. Not when there was still one last fight to come.

Alternative final battle (with byler)

Okay walk with me here:

it’s the final battle and the party is in dimension X. it’s gloomy and dark and there is thunder in the background. It’s cold and the clouds have a greenish tone.

They want to get to the children first but Will can’t run because he has to fend off the Demogorgons, so Mike stays behind with him while the others are looking for Holly and the rest.

Vecna gets into Mikes head because he thinks that’s the easiest way to break Will, who he can’t manipulate anymore. He shows him all his worst memories, loosing El, seeing Wills fake body, the rain fight, his parents in the hospital, the star court mall fight… and how he was never able to do anything about it and then he says something along the lines of „He doesn’t need you“ and Mike is sobbing now, breaking down ready to give in to Vecna and then he hears Wills desperate Voice and a portal opens. He suddenly snaps out of it and responds with something like „I know, but I want to be there for him anyways“ and he runs towards the portal. Vecna stops him with telekinetic but then El shows up and stops him telling Mike she knows he loves Will and that’s okay and he should run.

When he finally is back again he hugs Will, crying and apologising and then they realise there is nothing they can do anymore because all the demogorgons of dimension X are running towards them.

Mike just takes Wills hand, they have a shared look and Mike is just like „I just don’t want to have any more regrets, hell can wait just a bit longer“ and they kiss. A lightning strike in the background and suddenly Will remembers. He was able to resist the hive mind with positive memories, with love and it makes sense now because that was how he was able to resist the mind flayers control before and even how Dart probably did it. So he taps into the hive mind, he knows if he feels something they do to, but this time he doesn’t feel their pain but he makes them feel his love and happiness making them able to fight against the control of the hive mind.

The party rescues the children and takes on Vecna with El and Kali and then they run to the exit making it back to the upside down. The mind flayer follows them and catches up shortly before they can exit into Hawkins again, the timer for the bomb is already on. Everyone makes it out but El stays behind giving her best to hold the mind flayer back with her powers ready to sacrifice herself. But then someone realises that if she has her powers because of henrys blood and he was part of the hive mind at least a small part of her should also be connected to it. So Will taps into one last time, pulling El out just before the portal closes and the wormhole explodes with the mind flayer in it and the day is saved, yay

I know this is incredibly corny but idc. If the Duffers can have confidence in their shit writing, so can I😌

It’s one of those balmy nights in Riverdale.

It rained a bit earlier so the ground is wet as they walk these familiar streets that she hasn’t seen in seven years. That’s how long it’s been since she’s been home. Except is Riverdale really home anymore? Is DC home? Was Yale ever home?

No, for her, home was not a place. It was a person. That’s gone now.

Betty walks alongside him and tugs her trenchcoat further around her body. She’s not sure how they’re here right now — walking in complete silence. She sneaks a glance at him and sees that he has his hands shoved into his pockets, his lips forming a grim line. There are dark circles under his eyes. 

He looks tired, like he hasn’t been sleeping well.

Even though it’s been seven years, there are some things about Jughead Jones that will never change. These tenets that make up the core of his soul — this, she thinks she still knows.

The Right Way to Love

After Kurt finds out Blaine cheated on him again, he calls off the wedding and finds support and understanding from a very unexpected person.

Saturday morning, Kurt closed his eyes, savoring the bitter taste of hot coffee while sitting at a table in the Lima Bean. He took a deep breath, trying to ward off the tears. He had spent the whole night crying, only managing to sleep an hour or two. His eyes felt like two balloons, over-inflated and ready to explode. He rubbed his temples, trying to ease the pain.

Kurt considered himself a scrupulous young man, yet he couldn't help telling himself how stupid he had been. Touching the red mark left from his engagement ring, he wondered what had been going through his head. It resembled a scar, the indelible wound left by his broken heart.

He was supposed to be getting married in just six weeks at the end of May, after all.

I gotta say, this fic literally had me both on the verge of tears & on the edge of my seat at multiple points. Like the fact it has less than 3,000 hits is criminal IMO. This was such a better fucking ending and what these characters deserved. God ugh
