I'm Back

Hey there! Haven't been here in a long time, and I apologize. The last couple years have been interesting for sure. For those who don't know (cause I did a terrible job of updating) I got back into comic illustration, and have made a career out of it doing freelance gigs!

I have also recently come out as non-binary. All pronouns are accepted, so no need to worry about misgendering or things like that!

Sable episodes are being slowly reuploaded and being made available to purchase here https://gumroad.com/lanedoescomics . Seasons 1 and 2 are available to purchase As of right now. Seasons 3 and 4 and the shorts will be made available soon...i just need to find some of the files. I've been using the same external hard drive for a few years, but apparently some old episodes of Sable were saved to a hard drive on a computer that has long since died. So, trying to find ways to recover them, or, if I just moved them somewhere on the external that they were never supposed to be in. I'll keep you all updated!

I'd love to bring Impromptu Fiction back, but I need to reformat it. Also, have to get a dedicated way to record since I've moved and not really made a room "podcast safe" yet.

The End

So, I'm sure most of you saw the post last night, but I thought I'd give a more detailed message on it. For those of you that didn't, Season 5 will be the end of Sable. The podcast, not the story all together.

The decision wasn't easy, and it's been one that I've been struggling with for quite some time now, ever since we got halfway through Season 4. My plan was to stop at Six, then it changed to never wanting to stop, then back to just six seasons. I knew this story needed to end, and I was dealing with two sides; one that wanted to keep this show going forever and the other part wanting to end it so I could start focusing on different things. By the time season 5 ends, I'll have been doing this show for 3 years. Thats a long time for me, and for the most part, Sable's been the only constant creative work I've done in those three years.

The big thing for me is that I want to leave Sable before I start resenting it. I want to give it the love and care it deserves because it is ny baby, and it holds such a special place in my heart. Sable was the first time I really showed my written work to the world. It was the first time I felt comfortable being a narrator, listening to my own voice which I used to hate above everything else. It was the first project that felt like me; something weird, unconventional, a bit silly. It's grand, it's complicated, its everything I've wanted in a story I make, and I'd like to keep that positive outlook on it. Sable means so much to me, you all mean so much to me. You've made a twenty something nobody feel like a somebody. You all helped me get over my fears, you've allowed me to be me for the past 3 years, weirdness and all. I don't stay up at night wondering if I'm actually any good anymore, I don't question if I really belong. (Well, not as much as I used to.)

Sable's given me a lot of confidence, a lot of drive, and that drive is pushing me towards better and bigger things. I want to get back into visual storytelling, I want to pursue a career in voice acting, I have a fucking publishing deal right now working on a really cool new way to consume fiction. But in order for this to work, I need to let my big, feathery, kind of spooky baby rest for a while, maybe a long while. But, this is by no means the end of the worlds of Sable. In fact, once we reach the end of Season 5, you'll see just how expansive and far reaching the world really is.
