Happy Nameday to @stalwart-spirit! Apologies that this is only loosely linked to Dalmasca (although I maintain that Saeed is a very important part of the kingdom's story) - I'm a bit behind with things and I thought better a subpar poem on the right date than missing it completely.

However I promise that I am working on (planning? thinking about?) that story that is linked to Dalmasca and (if you choose) Saeed. You'll like it, its all dark and traumatic and things like that. If I ever write the bastard thing of course.

Highlight a FFXIV blog which has challenged you to think about an aspect of lore in a different way.

One good example would be @stalwart-spirit and how much I've learned about Rabanastre and the Kingdom of Dalmasca as a whole.

Given that I found (and still slightly find) the Return to Ivalice storyline completely impenetrable, Saeed's story has been a fantasic hook for me to continue learning more.

Plus there is a Rabanastre-adjacent Mimble fic that has been at the back of my mind for months, for which @stalwart-spirit is definitely an inspiration.

After a long hiatus, I'm back with even more poetical nonsense! This time to celebrate the charismatic Dalmascan Revolutionary Saeed Iscitan of @stalwart-spirit.

As well as being a fantastic FFXIV blog, with some really interesting characters, the creator is also an amazingly talented artist (with commissions sometimes available!), as well a thoroughly nice sort.

What does your Muse think of mine...

Saeed Iscitan of @stalwart-spirit

Mimble would empathise with Saeed's situation, especially as he has some sense of what it is like for one's city and culture to be destroyed. However, unlike Amdapor, Rabanastre may yet be reborn from the ruins - and Mimble would be willing to assist with the process if he could, especially through healing the injured.

He would think Saeed a rather determined and serious sort, but then most people appear serious compared to Mimble. He would probably tease him slightly and offer him toffees. He would not necessarily be put off by Saeed's less than salubrious past, but would be much more alert around him than his absent-minded presentation would suggest.

Humble would assess Saeed as being an accomplished fighter, albeit of the sneakier variety. He would admire his bravery and willingness to stand up to oppression, but would not necessarily completely trust someone so guileful. Perhaps if he got to fight or work alongside Saeed he might develop a more of a bond, but he would keep a tight hold on his coinpurse in the meantime.

He would also probably think Saeed very handsome and would consequently feel a little shy and awkward around him - feelings which he usually conceals by being silent, stern and impassive and letting others do the talking. However a slight blush might be discerned, even through his ruddy Hellsguard complexion.
