A quick but important Wattpad PSA courtesy of an email I just received...
Three things of note:
1) There was a data breach, so if you write on there, please go change all your information for your own safety since they are not bothering to notify anyone!
2) My account was breached on the 19th, so this was apparently recent. They go account info such as “Passwords, IP addresses, Email addresses, Dates of birth, Bios, Genders, Geographic locations, Names, Social media profiles, User website URLs, and Usernames” To name a few things. I was notified by Firefox Monitor and they were notified by Have I been Pwned.
3) I won’t be uploading my works on their anymore. If you get breached and someone else has to tell me, then I’m not interested in working with you. Sorry to anyone that reads my work on there (just kidding no one does from what I can tell!)
