Upgrade your classic grilled cheese sandwich with the earthy flavors of fresh sage. This Sage Grilled Cheese is a delightful twist on a comfort food favorite.
Ingredients: 2 slices of whole-grain bread. 2 slices of cheddar cheese. 4 fresh sage leaves. 1 tablespoon of butter. 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Lay out the two slices of bread on a clean surface. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each slice of bread. Sprinkle garlic powder evenly over the cheese slices. Lay two fresh sage leaves on top of each cheese-covered bread slice. Season with a pinch of salt and a dash of pepper. Sandwich the two slices of bread together to create a sage and cheese sandwich. Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Melt the butter in the skillet until it sizzles. Carefully place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted. Remove from the skillet and let it cool for a minute before slicing it in half. Serve your Sage Grilled Cheese hot and enjoy!
