A helplessness release spell for when the world is burning around you
I'm so pissed off. Aren't you? I'm so angry. I want to help those I can't reach and I want to hurt those I can't touch. I try to do my part. I cry. I'm so fucking frustrated and numb at the same time.
I use this spell for when I want to rip out my hair and scream into the void. When watching a video on my phone makes me want to vomit from the injustice.
This spell won't fix the world. But it will help you release the paralysis so you can actually DO something (or rest without guilt).
What you need:
Salt
A candle (any candle)
Paper + pen
Your breath
The spell:
1. Light the candle. Say: "I acknowledge what I cannot control."
2. Write down what's making you feel helpless. The news. The state of the world. The thing you can't fix. Whatever's crushing you. Be specific.
3. Read it out loud. Let yourself feel the weight of it. Don't rush past this part.
4. Say: "I cannot carry the entire world. But I can carry my part."
5. Pour salt in a circle around the candle. This is your boundary. Inside the circle: what you can actually do. Outside: what you have to release because it's not yours to fix.
6. Ask yourself: "What is ONE thing within my control right now?"
Not "save the world." Not "fix everything."
ONE thing. Text a friend. Donate $5. Rest so you can show up tomorrow. Make dinner. Don't look at your feed for an hour.
7. Write that one thing on the back of the paper.
8. Say: "I release what I cannot hold. I commit to what I can."
9. Fold the paper. Place it inside the salt circle next to the candle.
10. Sit with the candle for 3-5 minutes. Just breathe. Watch the flame. Let the helplessness drain out of you.
11. When you're ready, blow out the candle. Say: "I am not powerless. I am doing what I can."
12. Do the one thing you wrote down. Today or tomorrow. Doesn't matter when. Just do it.
13. Throw away the paper (or burn it if you can do it safely).
14. Sweep up the salt. Throw it away or pour it down the drain. You're releasing the boundary—you don't need to hold it anymore.
The point:
You can't fix everything. You're one person.
But helplessness makes you freeze. And freezing helps no one.
This spell breaks the freeze.
It reminds you: You have agency. You have choice. You can do SOMETHING, even if it's small.
And small things compound.
You don't have to save the world today.
You just have to do your part. And you're not alone.

Svatá Agáta (Feb. 5, the feast day of Saint Agatha)
I brought bread (more home baked buchty) and salt, down to my sacred space at the creek behind our home and an antique bottle to gather water—and prayed to Saint Agatha, adapting once again an invocation that sang to me from the Carmina Gadelica (yes, here I went again, muddling up my slavic and Gaelic heritages):
Svatá Agáta,
The sacred Three,
To save,
To shield,
To surround.
The salt,
The water,
The bread.
Protect
The hearth,
The home,
Those who dwell within.
This morning,
This dawn,
Oh! This morning,
And every morning,
Each single morning.
This afternoon,
This midday,
Oh! This afternoon,
And every afternoon,
Each single afternoon.
This eve,
This night,
Oh! This eve,
And every night,
Each single night.
Amen.
When I returned to the house I sprinkled hátová water at each of the four corners of our home and proceeded to place bread at the closest space I could find to the ceiling behind the beam:
“A piece of bread was placed on the ceiling behind the beam to protect the house from lightning. The housekeeper sprinkled the holy water in places around the house and poured it into the well so frogs wouldn’t stay in it, and sprinkled the grain intended for sowing in the spring so it wouldn’t be eaten by worms.”
I also sprinkled her salt and water down our sink to protect our water supply and on a bit of symbolic grain while praying for easy food abundance in the coming year.
On Svatá Agáta (Feb. 5, the feast day of Saint Agatha) water, bread and salt were consecrated in the churches. Whosoever ate this bread was protected from snake bite throughout the year.
Kostel Nejsvětější Trojice (Holy Trinity Church) in Běhařovice, Czechia — the church in my great-grandparents’ village.
Hátová water and bread have the power to ward off the elements, not only storms, but also floods and fires.
To ward off a storm, a person had to go outside, sprinkle hátová water in the direction of the approaching storm, and make the sign of the cross.
In the event of a fire, a handful of hátová salt was thrown into the fire. Bread sprinkled with water was also thrown into the fire, especially if the fire was caused by lightning.
The salt was also thrown into the pit when digging a well or cleaning it to ensure the purity and good quality of the water.
When a flood threatened, hátová water poured into a river or stream, along with prayer, was supposed to ensure a decrease in the water level.
Her bread was taken on journeys as protection against misfortune. It was also placed in mouse holes to drive away mice and ensure beautiful potatoes.

Greetings from Běhařovice
Yesterday, I took some time off to craft a few components I've been looking into for a couple of days!
In order, from left to right, they are:
Protective whisky
Air Salts
Fire Salts
Lemongrass Extracts (Hydroalcoholic)
Sun Salts
I've always been interested in salts as ingredients because, to me, salts aren't this energy sinkhole people often talk about. I always associated them with things like protection, banishing and energy storage like most people. But also with transmutation and healing!
The whisky is actually a substitute for a white vinegar base on a "holy vinegar" type recipe I saw floating around. I made the switch because white vinegar outside of the fridge is not a good thing and since I have leftover whisky from before I was sober, I chose to use that! Also idk whisky feels protective to me (?) so it matched lmao
The extracts were made out of a need for protection (from mosquitoes) but I soon realized these small little bottles would be great on trips where I need a solution with protective properties. Yknow just in case
I'll eventually post about these with some recipes!

Salt Magic: Making BLUE SALT to Manifest and Protect Your Peace- a quickie cut/ summary of the link below
In the context of Salt Magick, Blue Salt is basically just salt colored in blue through organic or inorganic means, with the intention of creating a 'tool' against evil eye and protecting one's 'peace'.
If you have access to Persian Blue Salt, you may use that one, too. But if not, you may create your own. What matters most is to remember your intentions behind creating it.
Dyeing in Blue
Natural Pigments: The blue pigments may be derived from natural sources such as flowers and herbs. Some people use dried blue flowers by crushing them into powder.
Kitchen Ingredients: Berries (crushed), Tea (brewed into a strong concentrated amount) or Food Coloring.
Other Sources of Pigments: Ink, watercolor, oil paint, and pretty much any other types of paint (highly recommended for artists and those who work closely with creative crafts). Just be mindful that the salt's consistency and moisture will be affected depending on the type of paint you choose to use.
👉 You can mix more than one source of blue pigment to dye your salt.
Additional Ingredients --Not a must, but if you have the time, I highly recommend it.Feel free to throw in bits and bobs that bring you a sense of security and joy.
Flowers: You can add blue flowers for more color. Butterfly pea, hydrangeas, lavender, delphinium--you name it. Feel free to top the salt with non-blue flower petals, too.
Herbs: Oregano, rosemary, sage, basil... You can mix in more than one type of herb in your blue salt, if you'd like.
Essential oils: Essential oils make great addition to your Blue Salt if you choose to seal your jar with a permeable material, such as mesh cloth or gauze.
Crystals: You can mix in bits of your favorite crystals, or even excess crystals from old trinkets and broken bracelets. It's a plus if you use ones that are associated with peace and tranquility (such as amethyst, blue aventurine, sodalite, or turquoise).
Charms: If you are going to mix in other objects, it would be ideal to put in ones that are made of glass or plastic materials. Please be mindful that metals will rust overtime. And with salt as your main ingredient, the corrosion process will speed up.
Written Prayers or Sigils: Cut a piece of paper, write your intentions for calling in peace or washing away tumultuous energies. If you have a sigil or any guides you draw inner strength from, write their name or symbol in that small piece of paper, too. You can fold the paper and bury them in your blue salt.
Well, that's basically it. If you're interested in the different ways of sealing and storing your blue salt, and want a background quickie on common naturally "colored salts" (with mentions about the basic role of salt in spiritual and religious practices), the full article is just over here ☺️ :
So you might have already heard of using salt for different types of rituals and spell work. Salt, used for cleansing negative energies, has
