while i am not yaoi fans but unfortunately naruto and sasuke are the biggest romance chemistry in the series. It's not that i want make them be yaoi but Kishimoto make they chemistry like lover than actually friends or brothers.

Make it worse Kishimoto said that he want make naruto and sasuke relationship is more than brothers. What exactly is that? Sound like soulmate and well soulmate always indication for lover.

Also as asia there's always Some kind stereotypes that if men look to close toward other men but didn't have same blood it will look yaoi. Like it or not that's asia eyes (at least in my place)

Also Kishimoto is very rushing to make naruto and sasuke marrying girls without proper chemistry. I believe he just want naruto and sasuke look straight.

Kishimoto clearly can write romance but he look lazy or no want make romance for his MC and make only focus to something else, i think he finally realise he already to late so he rushing everything and well naruto and Hinata is okey but sasuke and sakura really problematic

Yes, Kishimoto isn't completely terrible with romance considering he wrote Minato x Kushina, Shikamaru x Temari, Dan x Tsunade, and even Asuma x Kurenai really well and all these couple had good chemistry together.

It has been implied a few times that Sasuke and Naruto aren't just friends and are even more than that but it seems that only Sasuke is aware of this fact. Take a look here:

When Sasuke and Naruto are fighting here we see Sasuke asking Naruto for the first time why he is going this far for him. Naruto replies tearingly saying because Sasuke is his friend and Sasuke seems to believe it for the first time. But take a closer look at Sasuke's reaction, he isn't completely sure if Naruto is telling the truth which is your first hint that there is more to their relationship.

Sasuke then asks him the second time in a frustrated tone when team 7 is facing him and Obito disguised as Tobi. And here, Naruto says it again, because they are friends.

Again, look at Sasuke' face. He is in disbelief and even puzzled because by this point Sasuke believes that friends don't go as far as to chase each other across the world to bring them back. He still doesn't believe he and Naruto are just friends.

And now here, Naruto is explaining to Sasuke why he chased him. Because when he sees Sasuke who is very similiar to him suffering it makes Naruto suffer and feel Sasuke's pain. We see that Sasuke is shocked by this since there is an exclamation mark highlighting he wasn't expecting Naruto's answer to be this.

By now, it seems like Sasuke has now finally come in terms for his feelings for Naruto and why he thinks he and Naruto aren't just friends.

And for the third time Sasuke asks Naruto, "Why do you keep involving yourself with me?!" Sasuke knows there is more to their relationship and this time he wants Naruto to say something different but instead once again Naruto says this:

And pay attention to Sasuke's expression, he isn't convinced by Naruto's answer. In fact, he looks frustrated and even hurt by Naruto's answer because clearly this wasn't the answer Sasuke was expecting. Not only that but even Naruto admits he doesn't really understand his own feelings yet which further indicates his feelings towards Sasuke aren't just purely because of friendship. This tells us that Sasuke's feelings for Naruto are for love because why would he keep on asking Naruto this question over and over again and look saddened and unconvinced by Naruto's answer?

We don't see SasuSaku or NaruHina having this kind of relationship because it never existed to begin with. Kishimoto knew full well what he was doing and most likely said Sasuke is based off of his twin brother to tone down the homosexual undertones but clearly that didn't work. Because Naruto even stated to Hagamoro that he isn't Asura and Sasuke isn't Indra because Asura and Indra are blood related but he and Sasuke aren't which tells us the readers that Sasuke and Naruto aren't brothers.

I'm not sure if Kishimoto meant to make Naruto and Sasuke have a yaoi like friendship at the beginning but there were many implications that their feelings run deeper than being just friends and I believe Naruto feels the same but he most likely is closeted and is unconciously unaware of his true feelings for Sasuke and due to heteronomative expectations Naruto decided to marry Hinata.

This most likely crushed Sasuke's heart which is why he eloped with Sakura because she was practically the only woman available who was still interested in him but not because he loved her romantically because to Sasuke, his heart always lies with Naruto and Naruto's heart always lies with Sasuke.

Reader is his sorcerer and his girlfriend , she always feel stephen not really lover her but she ignore her inner thoughts. Until in Multiverse of madness, in Christine wedding reader heard Stephen talk to Christine, again she ignore that. Then when they landed in sinister strange universe. Stephen literally ignoring reader and more focus to cristine, he even aked cristine to take care of him when he about dreamwalking. Reader realise stepehn never will love her. After they back to they own universe reader talk to stephen about they relationship and the fact stephen abandoned her. Stepehn feel he very stupid and sorry but well -

Here's your angst WITH A TWIST!

"I love you in every universe," Stephen said to Christine.

You felt your heart break in two. You stood there in the background like you always were. You watched Christine help him because he asked her to. You walked over to the broken Sanctum window and sat down. You lost yourself in the black hole that spun in the sky.

It resembled the black hole in your heart growing. The loss of Stephen and the acceptance of there was no love for you back home. You closed your eyes and let the surroundings overwhelm you.

"Let's get back to our universe!" You heard Stephen say. Christine stopped Stephen in his tracks and pointed to you sitting there. Stephen turned around and walked over to you slowly. "Hey...Are you okay?" He said softly and put his hand on your shoulder.

Are you okay? Are you OKAY? How dare he?! You opened your eyes and just nodded. "Come on, let's go home." Stephen stood up and gently helped you stand up. A star-shaped portal opened up in the middle of the room. You watched Christine jump through the portal and Stephen followed right behind her. Like he always did.

You stood there, still in the haunted Sanctum. "Honey? Come on!" Stephen looked at you and offered his hand. Tears fell down your cheeks and you stared at Stephen's confused expression. It would be the last time you'd see his stupid face again. "What are you doing?! Come on, the portal is closing!" Stephen walked closer to the portal.

You stepped back from the portal and looked at the young girl struggling to hold it open. "Close it..." You said to her and more tears fell down your cheeks.

America let go because she couldn't hold it anymore. You heard Stephen call your name as it shut. "Get me back there, America! Please!" Stephen looked at the teenager.

"I-I'll try!" She nodded frantically.

She opened the portal again but it led to Christine's universe. Stephen helped Christine step through the portal so she could go home. "Stephen...Promise me that when you find her, you remind her how much you love her. Don't lose what's in front of you again." Christine advised and went back home. Stephen was now alone with America.

"I can keep trying..." America said softly.

"Don't...Don't hurt yourself...Let's go back to Kamar-Tajj...Wong can help." Stephen said sadly.

You fell to your knees and cried softly. You buried your face in your hands and wept.

"Now now, little canary, there's no need to cry." You heard a familiar voice say.

You looked up slowly to see Sinister Strange standing in front of you. He smirked down at you, the holes in his torso from the fence slowly closing up.

I see a few postings that criticizing Kakashi, the main topic is that Kakashi is the one responsible make team 7 be horrible team.

I actually understand where it come from specially about team 7 dynamic, like it or not despite Kakashi speech about "the ones break rules are scum in ninja world but the ones leave friends are worst than scum", Kakashi self is... Off.

And he not good teacher either, remember naruto, sasuke and sakura became great is because 3 sannin. Kakashi did teach them walking on wall and teamwork is important but besides that? ... What he teach?

I know some people thinking that children need finding by they own rather keep holding adult hands but again when Kakashi passing team 7 , he just there watching.

And he just put his team in Chuunin exam, sure they survive i wave country but it didn't meant they were ready.

And the whole training for Chuunin tournament , where he for whole month teach sasuke and leave naruto with other jounin and not give any training for sakura. And he teach sasuke chidori and lead sasuke almost kill naruto with chidori, and become Kakashi regret.

You know some people actually blame Kakashi for sakura behavior that not act like ninja, they said it's Kakashi fault because as leader Kakashi should scolded sakura to stop and focusing on ninja career. Also Kakashi look pampering sakura like rather tell harsh truth Kakashi couraging sakura about her delusion to have sasuke and Kakashi end up blame naruto and sasuke for that, so you can say Kakashi make sakura is right and the boys are wrong.

Also some actually blame Kakashi for sasuke being traitor because he didn't doing job to calm sasuke anger, he just said "vengeance is bad so you must stop" without actually try understand sasuke.

Sure Kakashi have his moments where he care for his genins.

Honestly rather blame Kakashi i blame Hiruzen because he the one made Kakashi be leader team 7, Hiruzen also the one make naruto, sasuke and sakura in one team. While in paper the dynamic look can work but in reality it's problematic. And Hiruzen very aware Kakashi mental condition, after all Kakashi failing 50 team in past.

I think Kakashi is example while Kakashi is great ninja but it didn't meant he will be great teacher. But sadly he got responsibility and like it or not if his genin became problematic he the first one will got blamed.

I find Kakashi to be a lousy teacher to some extent as well. I even made a post about it here.

Kakashi was not a traditional instructor. He focused on testing character and independence rather than constant guidance. Early on he taught the most important foundational lessons: cooperation during the bell test, chakra control (tree and water walking), and the idea that comrades matter more than rules. After that he tended to let his students grow through experience. That approach can feel like neglect, especially compared to teachers like Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru, who later became the main mentors for Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke.

However, many of Team 7’s biggest issues existed before Kakashi could realistically fix them. Sasuke’s trauma from Itachi and the Uchiha Clan massacre was far deeper than a jōnin instructor could solve. Naruto grew up isolated by the village because of the Kurama situation, which shaped his personality long before he joined a team. Sakura’s immaturity was also common for academy graduates and not something Kakashi alone caused.

The Chūnin Exam decisions are also partly on the leadership of Hiruzen Sarutobi and the system of the village itself. In the ninja world, dangerous missions and exams are intentionally used to force rapid growth. Kakashi judged that Team 7 had the potential and teamwork to survive, especially after the Land of Waves mission.

The month of training before the finals is probably the strongest criticism of Kakashi. He focused heavily on Sasuke because Sasuke needed a direct counter to Gaara, and because the curse mark situation made Sasuke unstable. Naruto ended up training with Ebisu and then Jiraiya, while Sakura mostly trained herself. That imbalance makes Kakashi look like he favored Sasuke.

But Sasuke’s eventual defection was mostly driven by his obsession with revenge and the manipulation of Orochimaru. Kakashi did try to stop him and later admitted he didn’t fully understand Sasuke’s pain. That shows Kakashi had limits as a mentor, not that he caused the problem.

So the fairest view is that Kakashi was an imperfect teacher. He was a brilliant ninja but emotionally damaged and inexperienced as an instructor. Some of Team 7’s issues came from his hands-off approach, but the main causes were the characters’ personal histories and the harsh ninja system of Konoha. In that sense, blaming Kakashi alone ignores the roles of people like Hiruzen and the circumstances surrounding Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura long before they became his students.

You know i realize that (mostly) everyone seem keep debate if naruto understand sasuke or not or just half understand but no one ever debate if sasuke understand naruto.

I see many discussions about naruto character and sasuke character and they always keep debate "is naruto understand sasuke" and there's a whole paragraph discuss and down of them bashing naruto. It always naruto must care about sasuke feeling and what he needs than his own need.

But i never even one see someone discuss "is sasuke understand naruto? ", no on ever discuss that part , they always hiding in " sasuke in dark place. he not in right mind. His pain is bigger and painful than naruto so he justify " .

Okey, sasuke is dark and trauma but i am not care what i care is that if he even care about naruto feeling what he need or not. Because in part 1 , fighting in valley of end,he literally mocked naruto that because not understand what's feel like losing parents or parents love. And he almost kill naruto.

In shippuden, he literally have alliance with Akatsuki, an organization that hunting Jinchuriki. And he not care of he kill naruto when he planning kill Konoha

And the best part after seal Kaguya again , and he was there seeing naruto say goodbye to his father one last time. And well rather find peace sasuke want be tyrant and demand naruto battle one last time to death.

So rather ask about is naruto care about sasuke and understand him. The right questions is, did sasuke care about naruto and understand him?

Because seriously sasuke look not care about anyone feeling except himself (sure in part one he decent but the rest? No) . And no don't use his in dark place . No, don't use in last battle that sasuke what kill naruto because he love him, so he can be in dark forever.

My question is did sasuke care and understand naruto?

Yeah, for most of the series, Sasuke does not truly understand Naruto, and he does not consistently care about Naruto’s feelings or needs.

Sasuke knows Naruto is loyal to him. He knows Naruto is in pain because of him. But knowing something and actually understanding it are not the same thing.

In Part 1, Sasuke understands Naruto on a surface level: lonely, weak, desperate to be acknowledged. That’s why his words at the Valley of the End hurt so much. When he mocks Naruto for not understanding the pain of losing parents, that’s not ignorance that’s cruelty. Naruto did lose parents; Sasuke just refuses to recognize Naruto’s pain as valid because it doesn’t mirror his own. That already shows a lack of emotional understanding.

In Shippuden, it gets worse. Sasuke is fully aware that Naruto cares about him deeply. He still chooses to ally with Akatsuki, knowing they hunt jinchūriki. He still chooses paths where Naruto’s death is a real possibility. If Sasuke truly understood Naruto, he would understand that Naruto’s entire worldview is built on bonds and protecting people. Sasuke doesn’t just reject that he actively tramples on it. That’s not “misunderstanding,” that’s disregard.

And the Kaguya aftermath is the clearest proof. Sasuke watches Naruto say goodbye to his father. He sees Naruto’s humanity, his love, his grief. And right after that, he decides the solution is to become a tyrant and demands a final death match. At that point, Sasuke understands exactly what Naruto wants peace, connection, an end to the cycle and he still chooses the opposite. That’s not confusion. That’s rejection.

People often say “Sasuke loved Naruto in his own way.” Fine. But love without empathy is hollow. Sasuke’s version of “love” is possessive, self-centered, and ideological. He frames killing Naruto as something for Naruto’s sake, but that’s just Sasuke projecting his own worldview onto him. Naruto never wanted that. Sasuke knows this. He just doesn’t prioritize it.

So no, Sasuke does not truly understand Naruto until the very end, after he loses. And even then, that understanding comes after he has tried to kill him multiple times.

Naruto spends the entire series trying to understand Sasuke. Sasuke spends most of it demanding that Naruto understand him.

Your frustration makes sense. This imbalance is real, and it’s one of the most uncomfortable truths about their dynamic and fandom avoids it because it breaks the romanticized “they understand each other equally” narrative.

You know thinking again i think Karin more make sense couple for sasuke. I meant if we talking about someone will stick with sasuke and skillful.

Yes, Karin in manga is more unhinged (like she about drug sasuke and assult him) but sasuke is the one come to her and see her as valuable.

Yes, she and sakura have same obsession toward him but Karin in love with sasuke is more make sense, in anime sasuke save her from bear and also since karin is sensor, she also like sasuke because power, seeing how her past it's make sense for karin for in love with sasuke. (What make sakura in love with sasuke anyway?)

And the best part (some people kind forget) karin knowledge sasuke darkness and how evil he can be , she literally got scared when felt how dark chakra sasuke was, and she still have self respect to want stay away from him , when sasuke to much dark for her. And sakura? Did she ever knowledge sasuke darkness?

And karin is still angry to him... Even not long but karin angry at sasuke and when sasuke met karin in Konoha the first thing he did is apologize to her. Also i find hilarious that karin being touching with sasuke is more many than with sakura in manga.

And let's not forget Kishimoto make Sarada look like karin (glasses) , i feel it's his way mocking sasusaku married

Yes but also no. Yes, while I do admit that Sasuke values Karin more and respects her because of her sensory ability even they wouldn't necessary be a wonderful couple either. Like you said, in this scene Karin was literally having disgusting thoughts about drugging Sasuke to get into his pants which is incredibly creepy and disgusting. And this is equivalent to Sakura saying she wouldn't mind seeing Sasuke pee so she could see his weenie 🤢😭

But Karin is better than Sakura in a sense that she was fully aware that Sasuke was losing himself in the darkness and even got angry at him for nearly killing her which prompted to Sasuke immediately apologizing to Karin and even though she does forgive him she knows better than to obsessively love him.

Also, we know why Karin fell in love with Sasuke. She fell in love with him because he saved her from a bear during the chunin exams and gave her a kind smile. Most people think that's nothing but it's important to Karin who has bad relationship with men in her life and Sasuke saving and smiling at her meant a lot to her.

However, unlike with Sakura we actually have no actual reason why she likes Sasuke. At first, it was because of his good looks and you would think that maybe those feelings develop further from a shallow crush to genuine love but we don't. In fact, Kishimoto even confirms he doesn't know the actual reason why Sakura likes Sasuke either.

And yeah, Kishimoto seems like he is mocking SasuSaku family regarding Sarada considering she literally looks like a mini version of Karin with those glasses and wearing those cute academic preppy clothes that just SCREAM Karin aesthetic!

This could be a callback to where Kishimoto originally wanted SasuKarin to be canon and is now being spiteful about it through Sarada.

So in conclusion, SasuKarin and SasuSaku both are equally bad and neither of them should be canon because it's one sided obsessive love from both girls while the man they love treats them like shit.
