context: you and sam hard launch your relationship at your first arena tour with an unreleased song
notes: requested! inspired by rein me in when olivia brought sam out at her London shows
The arena feels bigger than anything you’ve ever stepped into before.
Not just big. It’s endless.
The kind of space where your voice could disappear if you let it. The kind of space that reminds you, very quickly, that this is your first arena tour. Your name on the screens. Your songs filling seats that stretch so far back you can’t even make out faces—just movement, light, energy.
Backstage, your hands won’t stop moving. Adjusting your rings. Fixing nothing in particular. Breathing in, out, in again.
Because tonight isn’t just another show.
Tonight is THAT show.
You catch a glimpse of your phone lighting up on the table, your notifications were stacking up, fans already posting. Someone’s spotted him. And Johnny too. Blurry photos near the venue entrance, captions spiraling
“wait why is sam fender here???”
“johnny blue hat too???”
“same label maybe???”
You bite back a smile. Let them guess.
The lights go down.
The roar hits you like a wave—loud, immediate, overwhelming in the best way. You step out, and for a second, everything settles. This part you know. This part is yours.
Song after song, the set builds. Your voice steadies. Your body relaxes into it. You let yourself feel it—the crowd singing back, the lights warming your skin, the pulse of something real and massive.
You reach THE song.
The one you haven’t released yet.
You step up to the microphone, heart suddenly back in your throat.
“So…” you say, breathless but smiling, scanning the crowd. “This next one is… new. And it kinda feels like something or someone is missing.”
The crowd reacts instantly cheers, confused laughter, phones lifting higher.
You glance toward the side of the stage.
“Don’t you think?”
A figure walks out first, a saxophone slung casually, already grinning as the crowd starts to recognize him. Johnny lifts a hand in a half-wave, stepping into place like he belongs there.
And then he follows.
The reaction is immediate.
It explodes.
Sam steps into the light, guitar already strapped on, looking half-amused, half-overwhelmed by the sheer volume of it. But then his eyes find you and everything about him softens.
You don’t even think. You cross the stage quickly, almost running the last step, and throw your arms around him. It’s a big hug.. tight, grounding, like you’ve been holding it in all night.
He laughs softly against your shoulder, squeezing you back just as hard. Then, without overthinking it you pull back just enough and press a quick, soft kiss to his lips.
The crowd loses it.
You can hear it even through the ringing in your ears.
He’s smiling when you step back, shaking his head slightly like he still can’t believe this is happening but he moves into position anyway, fingers already finding the strings.
Johnny cues in with the sax, smooth and effortless.
And then the song begins.
It’s different from anything you’ve released before still soft, still delicate, but layered now with Sam’s voice and his bands instruments.
His guitar cuts through gently at first, then builds.
When he starts singing his verse, the shift is electric. His voice wraps around yours in a way that sounds perfect.
And I let go of everything I ever had
'Cause I couldn't give the love you deserved
By the Gunner you shouted, "Oh my God"
You glance at him mid-line… Big mistake.
Because he’s already looking at you. Not casually. Not performatively. Just longing. Like the rest of the arena doesn’t exist.
Your chest tightens, but you don’t break. You sing your lines and you catch him quietly, almost unconsciously mouthing the words along with you.
There's nothing brave in walking alone
Love in exile has nowhere to go, so come on home
Mm, don't run away from my tenderness
By the final chorus, the crowd is singing along—even though they’ve never heard it before. That kind of moment. That kind of energy.
You step closer to him without meaning to, your shoulder brushing his arm as you hit the last note together.
Now I'm working myself up to a nice, warm bliss
All my memories of you ring like tinnitus
If I stop, it's just pain, please don't rein me in
Now I'm working myself up to a nice, warm bliss(Working myself)
All my memories of you ring like tinnitus (My memories of you)
If I stop, it's just pain, please don't rein me in
And when the song ends, there’s a split second of silence. Then chaos.
Later, the videos are everywhere. Clips of the hug, the kiss, the reveal.
But the ones that really blow up they’re zoomed-in, slightly shaky footage of him standing just behind you, playing the guitar with his eyes fixed on you like he forgot there were cameras.
Another from the side angle, catching him mouthing your lyrics, a small smile tugging at his lips.
The tweets start to pile up..
“he is DOWN BAD”
“this is the softest thing I’ve ever seen???”
“indie rock boyfriend x pop princess is REAL???”
“the way he looks at her I’m unwell”
And the narrative spreads instantly: You, the delicate, shimmering pop voice, and him, the grounded, indie rock boy with a guitar slung low. Somehow… working perfectly.
Backstage after, it’s quieter.
You’re still buzzing, adrenaline not even close to fading. He leans against the wall, watching you like he did onstage but softer now, private again.
“Well,” he says, a hint of a grin. “That went alright.”
You laugh, stepping closer, nudging his arm.
“Just alright?”
He shakes his head, reaching for your hand, lacing your fingers together.
“Yeah,” he murmurs. “Think we might’ve just broken the internet.”
You roll your eyes, but you’re smiling. And when he leans down to kiss you again this time, slower, steadier… There’s no crowd. No lights. Just the two of you.
My requests are open if you have any ideas for future fics. My first go at writing, so be kind ☺️
The morning sunlight filtered through the curtains of the hotel room, casting a warm glow on the space. Sam Fender awoke to the sound of his phone buzzing on the bedside table. He groggily reached for it, squinting at the screen. It was a message from Dean.
“Mate I’ve not slept a wink last night, I can’t believe it.”
Sam smiled, feeling the nerves in his stomach shift into something else - excitement, anticipation, and maybe a little bit of disbelief. He was going to play St. James' Park tonight. It was all a bit of a joke really, him and the band claiming they’ll play St James one day, the same stadium their dads had been taking them to when they were bairns. That was until Owain, his manager, got the call to work out the logistics of it actually going ahead. Mental.
Turning over, he saw YN still asleep beside him, the soft rise and fall of her chest, a stark contrast to the way his heart was pounding with anticipation. Her hair was spread across the pillow, her face relaxed, peaceful. Sam couldn’t help but smile at the sight of her - his constant support through all the highs and lows of his career. His whole career had her in mind, this was about her as much as it was about him. Without her, his music wouldn’t exist. Tonight was going to be huge, but the nerves swirling in his chest calmed every time he looked at her.
He carefully moved closer to her, brushing a few strands of hair from her face, and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.
“Babe,” he whispered, trying not to startle her.
YN stirred, her eyes fluttering open. She blinked a few times, then smiled, recognising the familiar sound of his voice.
“Morning rockstar,” she murmured, her voice still thick with sleep. “You feeling alreet?”
“Yeah... just thinking about tonight,” Sam said, a slight tremor in his voice. “St. James' Park. Can’t believe it’s finally here.”
Her smile grew wider. She reached out and took his hand, squeezing it gently. “You’re going to be amazing. You’ve worked your arse off for this, Sam. You deserve it.”
He let out a breath, his nerves creeping back. “I just want to make it perfect.”
“Everything will be perfect. You’ve got this.”
Sam leaned in and kissed her again, this time a little longer, a promise of everything that had yet to come. “I’m glad you’re here with me. It’s all so much better when you’re by my side.”
YN smiled softly, brushing his cheek with the back of her hand. “I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
A few moments passed, the morning settling around them in a comfortable silence. But Sam knew the day wasn’t going to wait.
“I’ve gotta get going, darlin’” he said reluctantly, his fingers still brushing against hers as he stood up.
“Yeah, I’ll get ready too,” she said, sitting up and rubbing her eyes. “I’ll see you soon.”
Sam nodded, a little hesitant to leave her side. But they both knew the day ahead was packed with a million things to do. As Sam left the room, his heart pounded, the weight of the upcoming performance sitting heavy on his chest. But there was no going back now.
-
YN stood in front of the mirror, applying a bit of makeup, her thoughts drifting as she thought about Sam’s big night. Sam’s music rang through their house, she truly was a fan of his work, even buying her own vinyl that Sam insisted he could have just gotten a copy of for her. She wanted to support him the same as any other fan when it was released. She was so proud of him, and she knew how much this show meant to him. After everything they had both been through, this was the moment.
She slipped into her outfit - a worn black denim skirt accompanied with her Newcastle United shirt. Of course the shirt had ‘Fender’ and ‘17’ printed across the back, a small touch her and the other girlfriends of the band had organised. She grabbed her bag and made her way out of the house.
The traffic was heavy getting over to St James Park. She decided to make the journey easier for the driver, getting out sooner than she should have. It gave her a chance to take in the streets. Full of excited fans ready for the show. She passed several fans in the entrance, all buzzing with excitement. It was no secret within the area that she was Sam’s girlfriend. Having been together since their teenage years in such a small town, everyone knew everyone. Making her way to the back entrance of the building, some fans stopped to talk about their excitement for tonight. She took a moment with each fan, chatting briefly. It was important to her that they knew she appreciated their support for Sam.
YN continued on her way, feeling the building excitement in the air. This was his moment.
With a smile beaming across her face, she made her way to the family box. The room was already buzzing with excitement as the bands families gathered. She spotted his mam beaming with pride, talking to Sarah. It was always funny seeing Sam’s two motherly figures speaking.
“Alreet lass, how’s it goin?”
She turned quickly and realised it was Sam’s brother, Liam.
“Liam!” She giggled as he embraced her in a tight squeeze, clearly very excited.
“Oh my god I cannit believe it man, St James Park! It’s absolutely bouncing out there.” She exclaimed excitedly to him, as he passed her a beer from the ice bucket.
As the hours passed, she spent time speaking amongst some of the people she’d known since she was just a bairn.
-
Backstage, Sam paced nervously, his bandmates doing their best to keep the mood light with jokes and banter. But Sam could feel the weight of the moment pressing down on him. He looked out from the backstage area and saw the sea of fans already filling the stadium. It was unreal.
“This is it, mate,” Dru said, clapping him on the back. He could hear Mark Knopfler’s ‘Local Hero’ playing out into the crowd.
“I know, I know,” Sam replied, his voice tight with nerves. He could feel his palms sweating, his heart racing in his chest. He needed to make this count - not just for him, but for everyone who had been a part of his journey. “It’s hard to wrap my head around, you know? St. James' Park. It feels... unreal.”
“It is unreal. But you’ve earned it,” Dru said firmly.
The lights began to dim, and the crowd’s roar grew louder, signaling that it was time. Sam’s heart was pounding now, but when he looked at his bandmates, they were all standing tall, ready. He took a deep breath.
“Howay then,” he chuckled slightly.
As he walked on stage, the crowd’s energy hit him like a wave. The stadium roared with excitement, the sound deafening. Sam stepped up to the mic, taking in the sea of faces that had come to see him and his band. The first few chords of ‘Will We Talk?’ sent the crowd wild.
As the show went on, Sam’s nerves faded away, replaced by pure adrenaline. He sang with all his heart, every note a reflection of everything he had worked for. He spotted his family and friends in the VIP box, waving and cheering him on. It seemed like half of Shields was in that box. He made sure they were looked after, a small thank you for always supporting him even before his career kicked off.
He grinned, his heart swelling. And then, with a look to the side, he saw YN standing there with the rest of his family, her face alight with pride and love. Her arm flung around his mam’s back as they danced and sang their hearts out. Their relationship was always good, often his mam would joke she preferred her over him, not that he could blame her.
Sam couldn’t help it, being the last song of the night - grabbed the mic, his voice breaking through the music as he shouted, “You know, I’m not one to be a soppy bastard,” Sam spoke into the mic, turning to look at Dean as he laughed. “But I can’t play this last one without mentioning the lass behind it…behind most of these tunes really.” As he spoke, a pink sheen flushed his cheeks, he looked up to the box where YN was stood. “YN, this one’s for you darlin’, cheers for putting up with wor, I can’t imagine it’s easy like.” He chucked as he looked back down to his guitar.
‘Hypersonic Missiles’ boomed around the stadium. Sam looking directly at YN as he sang the lyrics,
“But I believe in what I'm feeling,
And I'm firing for you.
This world is gonna end but 'til then, I'll give you everything I have”
The crowd cheered again, and YN’s heart fluttered in her chest. She was so proud of him, so overwhelmed by how far he had come. This was the dream, the one they had talked about so many times in the past, and now it was real.
-
The night passed in a whirlwind of energy, cheers, and unforgettable moments. After the show, the band and their families made their way to the after-party, laughter filling the air as everyone celebrated together. Sam, a little drunk, his cheeks flushed with the adrenaline of the night, was in high spirits.
YN was by his side, watching him with admiration as he laughed and clinked glasses with his bandmates. She could see how much this meant to him, and that made her heart swell with pride.
“I can’t believe you did it,” she whispered to him, her arm wrapped around his waist.
Sam smiled, his eyes a little glassy. “I did it, darlin’. We did it.” He smiled at her, ignoring the group of drunk Geordies in front of them, focusing on her for what felt like the first time in forever after the whirlwind of the day.
YN nodded, pressing a kiss to his lips. “I couldn’t be prouder of you Sammy.”
The party raged on, but in that moment, with Sam by her side, YN knew this was one of those nights they would remember for the rest of their lives.
I take a deep breath as I step onto the tour bus, the hum of the engine vibrating beneath my feet. The air is thick with the scent of coffee, sweat, and a hint of stale beer from last night’s show. It’s surreal to think I’m actually here, part of Sam’s band, the first female backing singer they’ve ever had. Sam’s been my friend since we were teenagers, back when we’d sneak into local pubs to watch him perform with his first band. He’s always been the life of the party, cheeky, funny, and impossibly charming. But now, as I glance around the bus, I feel a mix of excitement and nerves. This is it. My first tour.
The bus is a maze of narrow corridors and cramped bunks, but it’s cozy in a way that feels like home. Sam’s already here, sprawled on the couch with a guitar in his lap, strumming a lazy tune. His light brown hair falls over his forehead, and his blue eyes light up when he sees me. “There she is!” he calls, his voice warm and playful. “Ready to conquer the world, or at least the next town?”
I laugh, dropping my bag by the door. “Something like that. Where’s everyone else?”
“Dean’s in the back trying to fix the coffee machine again. Joe’s probably asleep. And Drew… well, Drew’s Drew. He’s somewhere.” He shrugs, his smile easy and familiar. Sam’s always been like this, effortlessly cute, with a way of making everyone feel at ease. His muscular frame fills out his band tee perfectly, and I can’t help but notice the way his jeans hug his thighs as he shifts on the couch.
“You’re not nervous, are you?” he asks, setting the guitar aside. “First tour and all?”
I shake my head, even though my stomach is doing somersaults. “Just excited. It’s been a dream for so long.”
“Well, you’re gonna kill it,” he says, his tone so certain it makes my chest tighten. Sam’s always been my biggest cheerleader, but there’s something different about the way he looks at me now. It’s like he’s seeing me in a new light, and I can’t quite place why.
The first few weeks of the tour blur together in a whirlwind of shows, late-night drives, and laughter. Sam’s always there, making sure I’m okay. He brings me coffee every morning, even if it’s just instant from the broken machine Dean still hasn’t fixed. He teases me about my obsession with organizing my bunk, and he’s the first to clap when I nail a high note during soundcheck. It’s comforting, having him around, especially since I’m still reeling from the news about my boyfriend.
It happened halfway through the tour. A text from a friend, a screenshot of him with someone else. My world crumbled in an instant. I didn’t want to cry in front of the band, so I locked myself in the bathroom of a gas station, sobbing into my hands. When I finally emerged, Sam was waiting outside, his expression a mix of concern and anger.
“Hey,” he said softly, handing me a bottle of water. “You okay?”
I shook my head, unable to speak.
“Fuck him,” Sam muttered, his voice tight. “He doesn’t deserve you. Not even close.”
His words were like a balm, but they didn’t stop the ache in my chest. Sam stayed with me that night, sitting on the floor of my bunk while I cried and ranted and felt like my heart was being ripped apart. He didn’t try to fix it or offer empty platitudes. He just listened, his presence a quiet anchor in the storm.
Tonight, though, is different. It’s been a a week since the breakup, and the band decided to go out for drinks after the show. The bar is loud, the air thick with the smell of beer and smoke. Sam’s stuck by my side all night, his laughter infectious as he tells a story about Dean trying to cook pasta and setting off the fire alarm.
“You’re really the life of the party, aren’t you?” I tease, clinking my glass against his.
He grins, his eyes sparkling in the dim light. “Someone’s gotta keep you lot entertained. Besides, you’ve been through enough lately. You deserve a night out.”
I smile, but it doesn’t quite reach my eyes. The breakup still feels raw, like an open wound I can’t stop picking at. Sam must sense it, because he reaches out, his hand brushing mine. “You’re gonna be okay,” he says, his voice low and serious. “You know that, right?”
I nod, my throat tight. “Thanks, Sam. For everything.”
By the time we get back to the tour bus, the others are already crashing in their bunks. Sam and I stay up, sitting close on the couch. The alcohol has loosened his tongue, and he’s talking about the early days of the band, when they’d play in tiny pubs for crowds of ten people.
“You should’ve seen us,” he says, laughing. “We were terrible. But we had heart, you know? And that’s what mattered.”
I smile, leaning my head against his shoulder. It’s comfortable, being this close to him. Familiar. But then, out of nowhere, his tone changes. His laughter fades, and he turns to look at me, his blue eyes soft and earnest.
“I’ve always cared about you,” he says, his voice slurred just enough to make my heart skip a beat. “I just… I wanted you to know.”
I freeze, my breath catching in my throat. Sam? Sweet, tentative Sam? I never saw this coming. My mind races as I try to process his words. He’s always been such a good friend, but this… this is different.
“Sam,” I start, but my voice comes out shaky. “I-”
“I know,” he interrupts, his hand brushing my cheek. “You don’t have to say anything. I just… I needed to tell you. I’ve felt this way for a long time, but you’ve always had someone else, and I didn’t want to mess things up.”
I stare at him, my heart pounding. The room feels too small, too quiet. I’ve never thought of Sam like this, but in this moment, with his eyes on me and his hand on my face, it’s hard not to.
“I’m here now,” I whisper, my voice barely audible. “And I need… I need someone to remind me I’m still worth loving.”
His thumb brushes my cheekbone, his touch gentle. “You’re worth everything,” he murmurs, leaning in.
His lips press against mine, soft and tentative at first, like he’s waiting for me to pull away. But I don’t. Instead, I kiss him back, my hands tangling in his hair. It’s awkward at first, our movements clumsy with alcohol and nerves, but then it clicks. His lips are warm, his kiss deep and hungry, and I feel a spark ignite in my chest.
“Sam,” I breathe against his mouth, pulling back slightly. “Are you sure about this?”
He smiles, his eyes half-lidded and dreamy. “More sure than I’ve ever been about anything.”
His words send a shiver down my spine. I’ve never been with Sam like this, but there’s something so right about it. He’s always been my safe space, and tonight, I need that more than ever.
He takes my hand, leading me to his bed at the back of the bus. The space is small, the air warm and stuffy, but I don’t care. Sam pulls me close, his hands gentle as he starts to undo the buttons of my shirt.
“You’re so beautiful,” he murmurs, his breath hot against my skin. “I’ve always thought so.”
I blush, my heart racing as his lips trail down my neck. His touch is careful, like he’s afraid he might break me. But I’m not fragile. Not tonight.
“Sam,” I whisper, tugging at his shirt. “I want you.”
He looks up, his eyes searching mine, and I see the hesitation in them. “Are you sure? I don’t want to rush you-”
“I’m sure,” I cut him off, pressing a finger to his lips. “I’m sure.”
He nods, his hands moving to my jeans, unbuttoning them slowly. I shiver as he slides them down my legs, his touch sending sparks through my body. I’m wearing lace underwear, and I feel exposed, vulnerable, but Sam’s gaze is so full of admiration it makes me feel powerful.
“You’re perfect,” he says, his voice thick with desire.
I bite my lip as he hooks his fingers into the waistband of my underwear, sliding them down my legs. I’m naked now, and Sam’s eyes rake over me, his expression hungry but still so tender.
“Your turn,” I whisper, reaching for his belt.
He laughs, a soft, nervous sound, as I undo his jeans. His boxers are tight, and I can see the outline of his erection, thick and hard. My heart races as I push his jeans and boxers down, his cock springing free. It’s bigger than I expected, and I feel a flush creep up my cheeks.
“Wow,” I murmur, reaching out to touch him.
He hisses, his head falling back as my hand wraps around him. “Fuck, that’s good.”
I smile, stroking him slowly, savoring the way his muscles tense under my touch. He’s so responsive, his breath coming in short gasps as I explore him.
“Enough teasing,” he groans, pushing my hand away. “I need to taste you.”
Before I can respond, he’s pushing me back onto the bed, his hands gentle as he spreads my legs. His lips brush my thigh, sending a jolt of anticipation through me. I’ve never been with Sam like this, and the thought makes my heart pound.
His mouth finds my core, his tongue hot and wet against my clit. I gasp, my hands tangling in his hair as he laps at me, his touch both gentle and hungry.
“Sam,” I moan, my hips bucking against his mouth. “Fuck, that feels so good.”
He hums against me, the vibration sending shivers through my body. His fingers slip inside me, stretching me open as his tongue flicks and teases. I’m a mess, my breath coming in short, desperate gasps as pleasure coils low in my belly.
“Sam, I’m close,” I pant, my voice shaky.
He looks up, his eyes dark with desire. “Come for me,” he murmurs, his mouth returning to my core.
I cry out, my body arching off the bed as my orgasm crashes over me. It’s intense, overwhelming, and Sam drinks me in, his tongue never stopping. I’m shaking by the time he finally pulls back, his lips swollen and shiny.
“Fuck,” I breathe, my chest heaving. “That was-”
“Not done yet,” he interrupts, grinning as he sheds the rest of his clothes.
He climbs onto the bed, his body hovering over mine, his cock pressing against my thigh. I reach for him, guiding him to my entrance.
“Ready?” he asks, his voice hoarse.
I nod, my heart pounding with anticipation.
He enters me slowly, his eyes locked on mine as he fills me. It’s tight, his thickness stretching me, but it feels so right. I wrap my legs around his waist, pulling him deeper.
“You feel incredible,” he groans, starting to move.
His thrusts are slow at first, deliberate, like he’s savoring every moment. I meet him with each stroke, my nails digging into his back as pleasure builds again.
“Sam,” I whisper, my voice desperate. “Faster.”
He obliges, his hips snapping against mine as he pounds into me. The bed creaks beneath us, the rhythm frantic and raw. I’m a mess, my moans echoing in the small space as he reams me, his cock filling me completely.
“Fuck, you’re so tight,” he pants, his voice strained. “So good.”
I’m close again, my body coiling tighter with every thrust. “Sam, I’m-”
“Come for me,” he growls, his hand finding my clit.
I moan his name as my orgasm hits, my walls clenching around him. He follows, his thrusts stuttering as he spills inside me, his groans muffled against my neck.
We collapse in a tangle of limbs, our breaths ragged and hearts racing. Sam pulls me close, his lips pressing to my forehead.
“You okay?” he murmurs, his voice soft and concerned.
I nod, my fingers tracing the muscles of his back. “More than okay.”
He smiles, his eyes warm and tender. “Good. Because I’ve wanted this for a long time.”
I laugh, a soft, breathless sound. “Me too, I think.”
We lie there in silence, the only sound the hum of the bus and the steady beat of our hearts. Sam’s arm is wrapped around me, his touch protective and sweet. It’s comfortable, being here with him, like we’ve always been meant to be this close.
But as I drift off to sleep, my mind races with questions. What does this mean for us? For the band? For the rest of the tour? Sam’s sleepy smile doesn’t give away his thoughts, but I can’t shake the feeling that tonight has changed everything.
Hi love, you could write something with Sam where him and reader are out with friends at the pub maybe and they can’t keep their hands off each other and her sitting in his lap and being all cute couple-y like not really caring that there’s other people and the friends tease them but they’re also used to it (does that make sense lol) only if you want to of course 💗
a/n I love this idea!!!!

you had all gathered in the most local pub closest to where the show had finished holly had mentioned that she had gone here frequently she was actually the one to suggest the place, So it must be good.
Sam and you were the last to join the rest of the crew as sam had to shower and you may or may not have joined him and we may had gotten a bit too off the task at hand.
you both walked to the pub hand in hand, the pub wasn't all that far from the venue so we had walked it also wasn't filled with fans which was good.
"what do you want to drink baby?"
"moretti if they've got it. if not just whatevers on tap. and some peanuts to snack on"
"done and done" he said kissing you on the lips in between. then slapping your bum as you walked off to find your friends.
"Y/N OVER HERE" Drew called as I was looking around for where our group was sat. I wandered over and sat down on the only empty seat left. "OMG! Brooke?" "Y/n? How have you been I haven't seen you in ages. Not since you were being Sam's groupie. Please tell me you got out of that stage." "err well you see..." "hey beautiful." Sam said leaning down to kiss your lips and then dragging you up by the hand sitting down then pulling you back down to sit on his lap. "You two are still going strong. I see. What are you doing with yourself now?" "I'm sort of doing tour managing. managing Sams tour, overseeing all the unloading of equipment, kitting out equipment, doing the soundchecks, making sure these lot get on stage on time, overseeing the whole set. I went to uni when sam was recording his first eps and album and then when I finished for summer breaks I became their temp manager. Owain his manager hired me as their full time tour manager when I had finished uni and now I sort of do this."
"Nice to see you actually doing something though. do you manage any other tour when Sam's not touring." "yeah it is nice I was getting so bored of just sitting around and not doing anything. but yeah. I do other little UK tours when Sam's not touring. and that's a lot less hands on. sometimes Sam tags along" "how are you Sam anyway?" The conversation carries on, but Sam and you stay in your own little bubble drinking your drinks "I love you" I whisper "I love you too" "I love you more" "I love you most" you kiss, leaning in. "are you cold?" he asks as he can see that i have goosebumps. "a bit but 'm fine as long as I have you next to me to keep me warm"
"awww sam hold me, keep me close I can never live without you, I don't know what id do" dean says mimicking me, tom quickly snaps back "oh don't worry y/n I will keep you close keep you warm" to which sam and you stick your middle fingers up at them, and they put their hands over their hearts acting hurt "well you dish it out you have to take it" you quickly reply to which sam just shouts a "yeah" in reply.

as the night drags on you grow more tired and more drunk, and sam gets more and more gentle towards you as the night grows on, never really letting you go, he's a soft drunk. "are you tired?" he asks "yeah a little" "well you can rest your head here and take a nap or would you rather go back to the hotel?" he asks you in response, he always shows you clarity, has done since before you were dating and were just friends. "id like to go back to the hotel, its too loud here" "okay we can do that for sure, lets go say goodbye to everyone" and so you do just that and make your rounds saying bye to everyone, saving tom and dean for last so you and sam could mock them like how they mocked the both of you.
"bye were leaving now drunkards"you quip, sam turns to you and starts singing sweet Caroline but a really bad drunk version as that's what tom and dean sang on the karaoke earlier on just before you were thinking of leaving, you wrap your arms around sam and sway holding a glass mocking dean mumbling the words acting drunk as you weren't nearly half as drunk as the rest of them.
"oi that's not fair, im drunk" Tom says, "But you can dish it out but you can't take it" sam says, "anyway goodnight" you say, dragging sams hand and leaving out the Door, and stumbling your way back to the hotel.

The bed dips and you stir, your mind fogged over with sleep, caught in that hazy realm between dreaming and wakefulness. You squint through the darkness at the faintly glowing display on your bedside clock.
4:06 am... ughhh... you have to get up for work in less than three hours.
Your eyes flutter shut again, chasing sleep, elongating your limbs in a restless stretch and going to turn over but something stops you, your body colliding with the warmth of bare skin.
"Sam?" His name sounds thick on your tongue, your voice laden with sleep. Of course it's him, who else would it be? He's just got back from his American tour at this ungodly hour, slipping straight into your bed like he's never been away. Filling that empty space that's been driving you crazy for three whole weeks.
"Am sorry love," he murmurs from behind you and you feel an arm wrap tightly around your waist as he pulls you in closer to the warmth of his bare chest. "Didn't mean to wake ya."
He nuzzles into the crook of your neck, planting a few soft kisses as his breath warms your exposed skin. The hand on your waist strays under the hem of the oversized t-shirt you wear to sleep in, rubbing small circles.
"S'okay," you mumble into the darkness of your room, then "I'm so tired" as an afterthought, a weak kind of resistance even though you're already pushing your hips back into his.
He's so soft and warm and he feels so good pressed up tight against you, comforting and rousing in equal measures. You hear him laugh, feel the warm huff of air tickle the back of your neck. "Thought you said you were tired pet..."
"I am," I you insist, sulkiness tinging your words. "I've got to get up in a few hours. It's good to have you back though... missed you."
"Mmm, missed you too," he hums into the back of your neck, sending a pleasant vibration through you. His hands wander downward to smooth over the contours of your ass through the thin lace of your panties and he lightly squeezes you, making you squirm.
"Don't get any ideas, it's like 4am," you whine, burying your face in your pillow and he's quick to reply, surprisingly agreeable.
"I'm tired too, bloody knackered actually. Can never sleep in those tour bus bunks. Got fidget-arse Joe above me and Dean just across the way snoring like a warthog. Don't worry love, shagging's the last thing on my mind right now."
"It is?"
The disbelief rings out clear in your voice, earning another chuckle from him. This is novel. You don't think Sam's ever not in the mood. He usually needs little encouragement, just the feel of your body pressing up against his enough to raise his pulse... and to raise something else.
Despite his words you can feel the definition of his cock through his boxers pressing against the swell of your ass. You'd be lying if you said you weren't a little disappointed. You've missed this... you've missed him and the way he makes you feel.
"I thought that maybe we could try something different," he murmurs, voice quiet, a little tentative like he's testing the waters. "I've missed ya so much, just being here, cuddling and stuff, being close... and I've really missed being inside ya, like you wouldn't believe."
His hips shunt forward a little as if to demonstrate and your breath catches, a tiny spark lighting, threatening to burn away your tiredness.
But Sam has other ideas, his voice hopeful as you feel him shift behind you, shedding his boxers. "We don't have to do anything, we don't even have to move, we could just lie here together. I just wanna be inside ya love, is that okay?"
"Okay..." you mumble, a little hesitantly even though you're already tugging your panties down your legs and kicking them off. You can't deny the way your body reacts to him being so close, the thrill that simmers in your core as you imagine him burying himself inside you whilst he fucks you slow and deep into the mattress.
But that's not what he's implying... is it?
Your confusion quickly melts away as you feel him reaching to hook your leg over his hip, opening you up as you feel his unclothed cock pressing temptingly against your entrance. He drags the tip up and down your slit, coating himself in your wetness, mouthing tender kisses on your neck as he begins to ease himself slowly inside you.
"Sam..."
You breathe out his name, an automatic reaction as your body stretches and moulds itself around him, accepting him, welcoming him. The slow, blissful drag of his cock against your walls has you fisting the bedsheets as he buries himself inside you up to the hilt.
"Shit... forgot how good you feel," he says, voice slightly shaky, large hands moving from your hips to slide around your waist, pulling you closer. He presses his lips against your neck again, murmuring sweet praises that travel straight to your core, your hips automatically pushing back to seek that blissful friction.
"Nuh-huh love," he chuckles, fingers flexing around your waist, holding you tightly pressed against him. "That's not how it works. Ya gotta keep still, okay?"
He holds completely still in you, hot and thick against your tight heat and you can't help but squirm from the need for friction, movement, anything.
"Sa-am," you whine, frustration chasing away any remnants of sleepiness. "I'm all for experimentation in bed but this is like torture!"
"Hmm my pretty girl getting impatient huh?" He teases, shifting his hips barely imperceptibly, pushing himself impossibly deeper until his cock kisses the depths of you. You have to clamp your lips shut tight to stifle a whine, determined not to show your neediness. You want him badly but this is his idea and you're stubborn as hell. You're positive you'll get what you want but you don't want to show your weakness. You don't want to be the one to break first.
"Nah, I can handle it," you reply, trying to hide the smirk from your voice, faking a yawn which you hope sounds convincing. "And I am still pretty tired after all... reckon we could sleep like this? Feels nice."
"Err... yeah... sure," he mutters and you swear you hear a note of dismay in his voice. He probably thought you'd be begging by now. "It is really nice. Ya feel so warm and snug and tight around me... perfect."
You just smile to yourself, making out like you're getting comfy whilst you surreptitiously bring a finger up to brush over your clit, your pussy automatically clenching as you bite back a sigh.
"Shit," he hisses, and you relish the keen sound he makes as you press down on your clit again and your body reacts, contracting around him, effectively milking his cock.
His fingers move against your skin, grasping you firmly, the pressure of his teeth grazing your shoulder as he bites down a little where the neckline of your t-shirt gapes open. The sensation makes you clamp down on him again, a moan slipping out that you don't try to hide this time.
"Fuckin' 'ell love, I don't think I can do this after all," he mutters throatily, hands back on your hips as he draws himself back to fully plunge into you, an impassioned groan vibrating across your skin. His fingers are digging in so hard you feel he might leave permanent dents.
"Thought it was a stupid idea," you giggle, triumphant. "Now are you gonna fuck me then or what?"
"Can't bloody resist ya can I?" He huffs in amusement, your bold request finally breaking his resolve. You both knew full well it wasn't going to be enough. It was never going to be enough just being close, the two of you always needed more of each other in every single way.
You let him manoeuvre your body so he can slide on top of you, the delicious heavy weight of him pushing you face-down into the mattress. You arch yourself back into him and he responds by thrusting deep, tangling his fingers through yours and pressing your hands firm to the bed as he sinks into you with a groan of pure relief.
You're completely enveloped by him, his cock hitting the deepest parts of you in this position, your moans and whimpers muffled by the pillow as he finds a steady rhythm, each buck of his hips pushing you closer to the brink.
"Feels so good... missed ya so much... love ya so much darlin'..." His words are interspersed with kisses, hot, wet and sweet, scattered along your jaw and your neck, every thrust rocking deep and hitting that blissful little spot inside you that makes your toes curl.
You don't normally come from sex alone but tonight is different, you can feel the pressure building deep inside, shockwaves of indescribable pleasure as you surrender yourself to him.
He groans your name out loud, hips stuttering against your ass, grinding a final thrust as he comes, pouring into you like molten heat.
You both lie there for a moment in the quiet, completely spent and panting, him slumped over you until you begin to squirm beneath him. "Sam, you're squashing me now!"
"Shit, sorry pet," he laughs, rolling back on to his side, taking you with him so you're still fused together pressed up tight against him, the little spoon. You can feel him softening inside you, his release dripping out of you and soaking into the sheets.
"So much for just lying there," you grin and hear him chuckle, feel the warm vibrations of his laughter carry through his body to yours. "Are you gonna let me go now then?"
"Love..." he starts, the affectionate timbre of his voice warming you through as you feel him press a soft kiss to your hair, humming softly in contentment. "I ain't ever letting you go."
