still thinking about this book. if u also grew up as white trash in the US and the defining moment of ur youth was a friend's suicide (the kind of friend you would have dated if you could) and you've since become college educated but both academia and ur hometown often feel like foreign worlds and really you've moved on but you miss the green trees and bonfire nights (and yes in some ways a trailer will always feel most like home) and you've been jerking it to power dynamic fantasies longgg before you knew the meaning of bdsm (or a single other thing about your sexuality) and ur not even sure you'll ever accept the part of you that says ur a guy but you'd love to be a dude perpetually a little sloshed or baked taking dangerous little scenic drives racing down empty roads with a hot misunderstood baddie hunk who happens to be "innocuously" touching allll the time but u don't have to do anything about it (except learn not to take people's kindness for granted).. u might also need to read this book
