“I think I can love you.” You say, after a few moments of silence between you and the other person. You wait for their response.
hoyoverse characters reaction:
Sunday
He would make sure to say his next response very carefully, not wanting to ruin anything that had been going between you, but wanting to understand what you mean.
Just to make sure he also got what you meant, as he had to read in between to comprehend what you meant to say.
“I think I understand.” Sunday says after you explained to him. He would then take your hands in his, gripping them slightly as he looks you right in the eyes.
“I promise, I will work hard for the day that I can become the person you can love.”
Ningguang
Ningguang deeply understands what you mean. When it comes to her being in this power, she understands what you feel. The anxiety and defensiveness about letting someone in, trying to read them to make sure they don’t hurt you like someone had before, she had felt that way.
Yet even though she had felt that way, it doesn’t compare to how she had felt for you completely.
Ningguang smiles at you before she takes you in her arms, holding you close to her while inside the office in the Jade Chamber. “If at all, you do think you cannot love me anymore, I will not hold you back from loving someone else.”
Sam
He does not understand how you can love him, or even think you can love him. Sam only knows destruction and the “script” from Elio, nothing more than that.
And yet, somehow you both got close, to the point of the talks of love. Something Sam is unfamiliar with but seems willing to learn it.
“I do not understand.” Sam admits as he turns to you, his expressions don’t really give off anything through the cold armor, but his voice has hints of confusion. “Why not just do it if you think you can?”
Rosaria
Rosaria stays silent for that moment, her arms crossed over her chest as she thinks deeply. She assumed that the relationship would come to this, it was sort of obvious to her and anyone that sees the relationship from the outside.
For a minute, she wondered if it was okay to feel the way she does, but also, she was very happy.
“I think I get what you mean.” Rosaria says, her arms drop to her side as she looks at you. She lets out a deep breath. “I believe... I think... I can love you too.”
The youngest super soldier brings home an unusual pet.

“What the fuck is that?!”
“A smoothie.” Y/N stood awkwardly in the middle of Sam’s living room, a squirming bundle wrapped tightly in their arms, with one hand clutching an obviously empty smoothie cup.
“Oh ok, so just a smoothie then. I obviously wasn’t talking about the FUCKING ANIMAL YOU HAVE IN YOU HANDS?!” Sam threw his arms into the air in frustration and gestured wildly at the gray snout now poking from the hoodie Y/N had wrapped it in.
“Why are we yelling?” Bucky groaned, stumbling from his bedroom and almost running into the Captain. Y/N shoved the cold snout back into the fabric, receiving a grumble in reply.
“Look, a bird!” They shouted quickly and pointed over his shoulder, effectively distracting the super soldier for a couple seconds, which was more than enough time for them to turn and make a mad dash to their room.
The younger avenger sighed deeply, already regretting inviting the teen hero to live with him and Bucky during their summer break from college. He winced as he heard their bedroom door slam shut, rocking the house with the force. Two super soldiers in his home, what could go wrong?
“There’s no bird.” Bucky whined sadly.
“How have you survived this long?”
Bucky shrugged. “I spent most of my life frozen.”
——————
“Ok and here’s a temporary bed for you until I buy you a new one. Or you can sleep with me, it’s your choice. Now, is there anything else you need?” Y/N’s voice was muffled through their door but Sam could hear it clear enough if he pushed his ear against the wood at just the right angle.
He had already ruled out a bird, a frog, and a fish, but everything else was fair game. He was ever so slightly terrified that they had brought home an alligator and he couldn’t put it past them. Sam shivered at the memory of them appearing on the local news after ‘rescuing’ a crocodile from the zoo a few years back. And their defense had simply been ‘she looked lonely’.
“Food! Yes, I have some food for you already. But don’t tell Bucky I’m taking his salmon. He wanted to cook it tonight but we all know that he can’t cook to save his life so this will be a mercy for that poor fish. You stay here and I’ll be back in a second.” Sam didn’t bother stepping away from the entryway, only standing up straight with his arms crossed over his chest, his face set in a disapproving frown that only tired dads could pull off.
Y/N jumped slightly as they opened their door and was met with Captain America’s chest. “What’s gucci, Sam?” The door quickly shut behind them, blocking Sam’s view into the room.
“What animal do you have in there?”
“There is no animal in my room, what are you talking about? I think the added responsibility of being America’s greatest superhero has made you go crazy.”
Sam could actually feel his blood pressure rising. “Y/N.”
“Why would I bring an animal home? Bucky is pretty much like three dogs worth of animal so why would I need another pet?” They were rambling now.
“Tell me what’s in your bedroom or I’ll send you to live with Bruce.” They stopped, their eyes narrowing on the slightly taller man.
“You wouldn’t dare.”
“Try me.” They held his gaze for another minute, silently weighing their options. To live with Bruce meant more freedom with animals, sure but they didn’t know if they could put up with his yoga and ‘breathing exercises’ for months on end. Y/N relented.
“Fine but please, give him a chance.”
Y/N slipped back into the small bedroom designated as theirs but left the door open so Sam could follow. Taking a deep breath, he braced himself for the hell he was about to walk into, and then stepped over the threshold.
The young super soldier was on their knees at the foot of their bed, carefully lifting the yet to be identified pet into their arms. They cooed at the creature, rocking slightly before turning around.
“Sam, meet Jeff the land shark. Jeff, meet Sam.” Huge black eyes stared back up at him from Y/N’s arms, observing the man before it’s large mouth broke into what Sam guessed was a grin, exposing rows of razor sharp teeth. It Jeff wiggled in their arms, pleased with the new person in its space.
Y/N smiled brightly alongside the shark-hybrid thing. “Look how cute he is!” They squealed, hugging him tightly to their chest. Jeff, quite pleased with the attention, grunted happily, his four short limbs waggling around, along with his tail, which seemed to be at least as long as his stout body.
“You’re such a perfect boy aren’t you? Yes you are. You’re my perfect boy.” Sam didn’t know what he was more disturbed by, the shark creature or the fact that this teen, who he had witnessed punch a man so hard, his body flew through five walls of solid concrete, was baby-talking said shark creature.
Jeff’s triangular snout pressed into their pudgy cheek, nosing at their flesh affectionately. “I um- what? I have so many questions.”
“If I answer them, will you let me keep him?”
“No.” Sam said firmly, eyes still fixed on Jeff.
“But Saaaaaaam.”
“No buts Y/N. You brought a dangerous animal into this house without my permission.”
They turned away slightly, shielding Jeff. “You brought Bucky home without my permission so I think we’re even.” Jeff propped his thick head against their shoulder so he could continue to look at Sam, his tail wagging wildly beneath him.
“That’s different, as much as I hate to say it, Bucky is a person.”
“Ha! I told you I would get you to admit it!” Came from the other side of the house.
“Shut up Bucky!” They both shouted in unison.
“You can’t keep him.”
“Pleeeeeease.”
“No.”
“I’ll be good! I’ll wash your car! I’ll go on runs with you! I’ll even do your laundry!”
“Y/N.”
“Sam.”
“You can’t keep him.”
Y/N grumbled something under their breath, tucking their face into where Jeff’s neck would be. “What was that?” Sam raised an eyebrow at them.
“I said Tony would let me keep him.” Sighing deeply, he pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Tony also let you regularly jump out of planes without a parachute.”
“So I really can’t keep him?” Their voice trembled with barely contained tears, Sam’s kryptonite. They clung tightly to Jeff who was now looking at them curiously, concerned whines emanating from him. Fat tears hung to their lashes as their eyes slowly went bloodshot and their chest hiccupped.
“I can barely stand Alpine and I don’t think Jeff would like cats.” They’ll understand logic right? Sam wondered. Y/N’s eyes dropped to the floor, absolutely heartbroken.
And as if summoned, said white cat strolled into the room without a care in the world. “Brrr?” She chirped. Alpine tilted her head at her second favourite person, as if questioning why she hadn’t been picked up yet, like she usually would have when she wandered into Y/N’s room.
Jeff copied her movement as best he could while still being smothered by the teen. Her blue eyes fixed themselves on the shark. With little hesitation, she launched herself up, landing gracefully on Y/N’s opposite shoulder. Sam froze, already coming up with explanations as to why Bucky’s prized cat had been devoured by a ‘land shark’.
But instead of the bloodbath he expected, Alpine nuzzled into his cold skin, the tip of her tail flicking happily. Jeff grinned once more and leaned his head into the cat, accepting the affection.
And when Sam looked back up at Y/N, they were smiling victoriously, all evidence of tears gone from their face. He knew he was screwed.
“Fine, you can keep the damn shark but don’t expect me to look after it. Jeff is your responsibility.”
“Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” They bounced around the room, both animals hanging on for dear life. Sam couldn’t help but smile at their pure joy of having a new pet.
“Go on and get some food for him and I’ll bring you to PetSmart tomorrow for more supplies. Also, where did you even find him?"
Y/N shrugged. "Side of the road."
"I'm not even surprised. Alright, go do what you need to do, kid."
“You’re the best! C’mon Jeff, I have to introduce you to Bucky!”
And as they ran out of the room, Sam swore he had never heard a grown man scream that loudly before in his life.
Fear of heights, over coming that fear, cuddles, kisses, mid flight kisses, building jumping.
A/N- I dreamt about this this morning and gosh it was adorable. Also! This is my 10th story on this app! Yay!

✨🌻✨
Bucky was missing, yourself and Sam had only noticed moments ago. When not on missions with you or Sam, or even alone he was reading, curled in the single seater lounge by the window like some over grown kitten.
Today was no different- or at least you didn’t think it was.
“Sam?” You called, curiosity laced within your voice. A soft, inquisitive hum was your only answer as you started to look through your shared house for the silent wonder. “Sammy, where’s Buck?”
Upon hearing your question, Sam perked up, brown eyes travelled to the other mans favourite spot. “Um,” he places his book down, one recommended to him by said missing person. “He was here last I looked.”
You snorted, the last time Sam had paid any attention to either you or Bucky was hours ago. He was heavily invested in the pages in front of him.
Before you got start fretting a knock rattled through the house. “Mr. America?” The voice called, concern and light fear twinging their voice.
You slowly pawed your way to the front of the house, hoping to remain hidden in case this was a baddie. Even with your close proximity though, you couldn’t make out much besides Sam’s tired sigh.
“He’s on the roof- right now? Hey, baby bird?” He paused waiting for your hum of acknowledgment, “grab the wings please, the boys being an idiot.”
You turn tail, a small huff of understanding leaving you while you hunted down the wings. They were heavy, of course, but not so much that it weighed Sam down terribly or made it impossible for you to carry.
You grabbed your own wings as well, these smaller, black and much lighter than Sams. “Mr. America, I think it’s time to ground this boogie.” You say in the worst James Bond accent you could muster.
“I hate the pair of you…” he breathes as you both slip on the packs. It takes mere moments before the clasps are closed and tightened before your both barging out of the door and following the man out to the, thankfully, quiet street.
Sammy spots him first and when he does he heaves a heavy sigh. Bucky is fine, chilling on the rooftop, fully suited up and looking both calm and mischievous.
“Buck, for Satan’s sake!” You yell, thrusters already powered up. You take a step and push off with your back foot, flying up to the pale man. It strikes you, in that moment, how attractive your other partner is. His hair has grown back, healthy and grease free under yours and Sammys care. The sun light does nothing to distract from his beauty either.
“Hey, Doll.” He drawls, slowly dragging himself up to his full height. Booted feet firmed placed on the tiles, “come round here often?”
He’s flirting, with you, on a roof- this man who’s silently afraid of heights. Who’s had the ultimate trauma surrounding heights. “Mr. Wolf, I thought you liked all four paws on the ground? What happened to leaving the heights to the birds?” You laid beside him, craning your head up to look into his beautiful blue eyes.
“I did say that, didn’t I?” He doesn’t even finish grinning before he takes a few forceful steps and leaps! Up, up- higher and higher and you freeze. What. The. Fuck?
Sam is yelling below you, both know Bucky isn’t in any danger but seeing him fall isn’t exactly pleasant for either of you.
Before you could unfreeze there is a blur from behind you. The glinting of metal, the white and blue weirdly calming against the darkening sky.
And then- he catches him. It looks like it hurts but the bright smile on Buckys face tells you he doesn’t mind. You can’t hear the words the boys exchange, but you can tell they are both filled with happiness, tiredness and playful fury.
The spin in the sky, tangled together and laughing now. It’s lovely, making your heart ache with all the love in the world. You start to lift off again when they kiss, the smiles still gracing the fact through it and you can’t help it, you tap your chest, calling out your own drone. His name, Sparky, a black and gold drone, similar to redwing.
The drone chirps, slipping from your pack as you smile fondly. “Sparky, take me some photos and videos of my dorks please.” Once again, he chirps, flying off to do exactly that.
You fly closer to the kissing pair and slide yourself in behind Bucky, helping take some of his weight. Your arms circle his waist, causing your hands to brush Sams stomach. “The PR team is going to have a field day with this. The former Winter Solider, Captain America and highly questionable Agent seen flying together and making out as dusk- that titles too long- I’ll workshop it.”
You giggle against Buckys neck, he shivers in response. Sam groans, low and defeated. “Come out boys, let’s go inside.” You pull away, drifting down to, who you would learn as the neighbour. Taking a few moments to chat with him, signing a photo of the three of you and promising to bring it over then the dorks have done the same. “Thank you, again.”
-
It’s later that night, the three of you all tucked into bed, you in the middle with the boys holding you carefully when Bucky finally talks about *why* he was on the roof.
“I wanted to see what my bird brains do every time the soar, but I wanted my feet to stay on a solid surface. One day, I want to be able to fly with you guys.” You borrow your face into his chest, breath hitching with all the emotions you’re feeling.
“It’s a date.” You finally get to have your own kiss with the White Wolf, before turning and peppering Sams face with his own kisses. Your hands carefully tracing his exposed shoulder and chest to help ease the strain of the pack and carrying another, heavy person. “Hear that Eagle one? We’re gonna fly.” Your voice was slowly dropping off into that sleepy, wistful cadence.
Dropping one last kiss onto the older flyer you smile, soft and happy as you drift off to sleep. You had always wanted to fly with Sam and James and soon, soon you would. That night, dreams of soaring on the sky with metal wings and thrilled shrieks and one flying wolf.
It was a nightmareless night in the Barnes-Wilson house for all under its roof. Even the cats were well behaved for the night.
It was peaceful and happy and it lasted well in the morning the next day.
A/N: Okay I hopped on the angst train on this one BUT LISTEN TO THAT SONG. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I COULD HAVE DONE.
“You made me do this,” your hand trembling under the weight of the gun, your ears ringing from the noise of the shot.
You felt a hand on your wrist and you turned to see Sam gazing at you with concern. You lowered your arm and released your grip on the weapon. Sam holstered his gun at his waist and wrapped you in his comforting embrace.
“It’s over now. He won’t hurt you or anyone else again,” he whispered to you. You clung to him for support as you sobbed, your windpipe aching with every sound as the bruises developed.
Pairings: The Stellaron Hunters x GN!Reader (separately)
W.C: >400
Content: Different things that the Hunters get anxious about when it comes to you.
Context: angst, day 1 of angstober
October Masterlist
Elio
Elio, though he is a cat, gets the twisted feeling in his stomach whenever he gets the thought of you turning on the Stellaron Hunters, turn on him most importantly. Because of this, he makes sure to never write anything that may push you to turn in his scripts. In fact, he makes sure that whatever you want comes true.
Kafka
Though she doesn’t feel fear, Kafka starts getting anxious when you don’t tell her where you are, or at least how you are doing. She can’t be with you all the time to protect you through your missions, she knows you can protect yourself, but there is always that little thought of your dying, or you leaving the Stellaron Hunters without taking her with you.
Blade
Blade feels the old parts that reminded him of his previous human life come back to him whenever you get hurt. It may be a scrape through your skin on your arm by an enemy, or even a papercut, he gets reminded each time how little life you actually have compared to him. That’s why he needs to make sure he is by your side at all costs.
Sam
He is a robot, yet, like Blade, gets reminded of your human life whenever you get hurt. Sam understands the feeling he gets, but he doesn’t understand why he only feels this way for you. Because of this, he silently made a vow to be your shield, because at least he can repair himself with different mechanics if need be, but none of those mechanics can repair you if you get hurt.
SIlver Wolf
Silver Wolf gets anxious the most over the thought of you leaving because she is too snotty or is too obsessed with her games. You never say anything about that, but she couldn’t help it. What if you were pretending to like her? What if you hated her attitude or her interests with pop culture media? So she tries to cut back a little, hoping that you notice the change enough to not leave her.
